I recently sent in my Sherman Breakout + to get the travel adjust fixed. I got the fork back yesterday and rode Woodlot today. While it was in, all kinds of goodies got replaced and or upgraded. All I can say is that whatever was done to the fork absolutely changed the way it rides and all for the better. It does not even feel like the same fork! More than once today I thought I was going to get either thrown off line or pitched over the bars, but the fork just did its thing and saved my sorry butt.

So thank you, thank you and thank you.:D

Did I mention thank you?

I really can't explain how much better the fork is. I have always ridden rigid bikes until I got this one, so I did not have much of a reference point. I liked the fork before, but now I think I understand the difference between an OK fork and a great one. It still tracks the way it did (which was a big thing I liked about it), and soaks up the bigger stuff probably a bit better than it did, but now it works on the chatter as well. Soooooo nice!

Manitou should change their name...It seems like a lot of their stuff doesn't work right until James gets his mitts on it.

How about simply calling their fork line up "James", or perhaps at least replace the Travis with a Manitou "James".

Looking forward to see what kind of magic this man can do with Fox equipment.

The new Fox workshop is getting built up at OGC this week, if people thought OGC was awesome with Manitou, just wait until they do fox...

Is OGC going to continue to service Manitou? I sure hope so.

James and crew are going to be full on Fox come the end of February. There is no word on who might carry and service Manitou after that...

....for anybody who owns a manitou product(myself). good for those who don't though, especially those who have foxes, and were unhappy with their custi service before.

I think PUSH is going to have quite an impact.

Rosscofat
01-29-2007, 10:12 PM
why Push?

I'm saying, PUSH will have some competition.

Rosscofat
01-29-2007, 10:46 PM
nah... we just fix em.. and give em the usual OGC pamper. We dont crazy tune up like PUSH does.. PUSH makes custom parts.. and new internals ect.. they kick effing ass

there is a shop in whistler that is dealing with manitou. a friend of mine had her manitou blow up and they had it serviced in less then an hour. worked out pretty good seeing how she was able to test it out on the mountain about 10 mins after they fixed it .

most bike shops will be able to work on manitou forks...there just isnt a full on manitou service spot as of yet

The ones NOT autho... dont back up their work..

I rather take it to summit then to some guy who says yeaahh sure I can fix that.. plus they most likely get all parts from summit anyways and charge you more.

Nelson

Summit is really the only place you should be taking your Manitou stuff to in whistler.....RB and his team do a bang up job.

James is amazing, broke my lowers on my gold label, had an early release, no washers, I'm sure every one has heard the story, 12 mins later after getting there he had them switched and fixed. I was like "Umm thank you." Didn't expect it to be that fast, he told me he'd have to see if he had any.

Ya i dont know who i was dealing with at OGC but it was probably him. My warrentee on my slider was long overdue and he told me to ship it and when i got it back both seals were replaced, i had brand new lowers (old snapped), and all the stripped bolts had be replaced. All for free.

That guy rules.
