Hey, ive been looking into buying a bike for street, park, and dirt jumps. Im trying to spend as little as possible, about a grand to two grand. ive been looking at the giant STP's and Specialized P series more specifically the p2 and p2 crmo. does anyone know the prices of these off the bat ? And should i be concerned about weight when it comes to these bikes ? or are they all generally pretty light. im looking for a light bike.
What other brands can i look at for a good park/street/dj bike ?
Thanks alot

if you're doing a single speeder, look into the brodie cretin, it looks so nice for 2007. also, kona hardtails have surprised me in the past with how well they handle. gt also makes some nice hardtails now that are very well priced and well designed.

thats another thing i need to figure out, single speed or not. i guess the best way is to go to shop and try it out. i really like that cretin, btw. but its got a weird design, with the weld marks

its a sideways idea..but thought about a BMX
I've had a bunch of 26" and 24" wheel street / park / jump bikes (DMR x 2, Identiti, Azonic, Specialized, GT, etc.) and got to say i find my BMX so much better for park, street, dirt jump
cheaper to buy, way easier to maintain as it doesn't really get damaged, handles better and way more fun on trails and skateparks
and i have my FR bike for the dirt :)
brodie cretin.
I've got one for sale.
650$ obo.
really nice/light build.

If you are looking for a frame to build up:
Transition Trail'r Park
Banshee Scratch
Cove Sanchez
.243 Racing
As far as I know the frames range from about $375 (Scratch) to $700ish (.243).

single speed or not.
Derailleurs and brake discs are just something else to bend on the street. V's and SS all the way.

Both the .243 and banshee are HEAVY! go with the cove transition, or stp.
