Just wanted to know who makes the loudest rear hub? I have been looking at the Syncros FR hubs, do these make noise? The forest creatures of the world thank you8)

The loutest hubs out there are the Sun Ringlé Abbah DHs hands down. So if you wanna own the loudest available hub, then go for it. But they might be annoying as hell after a few rides, so consider yourself warned.

I have the Syndroc Race hubs (They come on the Norco Six One) and they are fairly quiet. The Hadley on my DH bike is another story.

I had a syncros up until a week ago but I am only getting a new one because I'm getting a new frame and it's not super loud but it's alright....the only time I ever heard while riding is when I was dirtjumping and cruising the streets.

Get over this loudness issue. Buy a hub because it's good quality, reliable and servicable. I run a DT and although it can be loud, I keep the star ratchet lubed properly so it works optimumly. I like the quick engagement, that's what sold me, not the decibel level.
I ran over a squirrel at work this summer, right in front of a family. The worst part is that he didn't die right away. I guese deore hubs are a no for squirrel scare cabilities.

Damn, that must have been fun...
Oh and go for hubs that purr when you coast... so much nicer than loud and dry hubs. But that is also personal preference.

Did you do the classic coup de grace on it after? I ran over a wild rat once and I dropped my bike off for simple tire change after that. I saw the whole science 10 rat dissection in 4-5 seconds.

I'm happy with my King. It's got a lovely purr to it, and it's not loud when your bombin' down the trails.
Only beef I have with it is the Aluminum Drive Shell. My cassette got "stuck" to it. Stainless Shell will only cost me about $150 bucks off Ebay, give or take

The family was watching, I carefully kicked him into the bush and told them he was dead (except he was twitching madly) at least he didn't get caught in the spokes!

Hahaha!! I dont know how to take that!! J/k J/k
The bike I had the King on was my XC bike and I put slicks on it many times for some road action. I was hitting speeds in excess of 35mph and while they did buzz pretty good, I still wouldnt consider them all THAT loud. Ringle is louder IMHO

imagine if you had run over it with your front tire, then have it grip/bitten into the treads of your tire, then being flung on to the downtube for the finish followed by bits of the animal flinging upwards your torso, face, openings in shorts etc.
Yes, if he got caught in the spokes you're SOL. haha good story.

Put a thick lube in your freehub! That makes it the loudest possible.
And you're right...the wildlife (and everyone else) will thank you if you do this.
