That's the spirit!
I just heard a rumour that Wade Simmons plans to solo the 7th Ripper if he's in town - and do as many of the other Rippers as he can as well.

it's probably seen about as much rubber as 7th too. It was looking a little grizzled the last time I saw it. Buff from a distance but certainly a few challenging sections.

I'm considering the 7th ripper and possibly the super D ripper. I'm worried that I might be too slow. Is there a time limit?

I'll climb up for you...I can't guarantee I'll be super fast but I will definitely be faster than you would be on that big bike.

the only losers at a Ripper are the people that don't show up, get run over by Corey, or are involved in a sammich incident (mostly the eating part).

no time limit on the Super D. Last year, one of our teams was dead last - we had food and "refreshment" stations planted all over the mountain. Good times.

but you definitely want to make it to the party in the evening.

That would be perfect. I’ve been the second last person to the top every year. Last year, the up hillers where going back down when I got to the 5th switch back. And by the time I got to the top, most people had finished the race.

The triple crown definitely has time limits.
The water tower station on mt hwy is over at 12:00
Cleveland park is over at 3:00
Lot 5 on Cypress is over at 5:00
If you can't make it to these locations by these times you won't be able to collect the cards and your number won't be recorded so you'll then need to head to Obsession to finish the event.

That could be a problem as the CBC Ripper is not designed to be raced in teams...

And you aren't supposed to be in a team of three for the Super-D either. It is supposed to be groups of 2 or 4. Though I believe the Triple Crown is 2 or more without a real limit, if you are interested in that one...

Get out and ride your bike... a lot. Go on trails that are challenging and each time you ride them try and do it faster!
It comes fast... pedal time is what you need!
Enjoy!

The Rippers while dark, scary, cold, physically demanding, held on some of the most challenging trails in the world (thunder rumbles in the background)... are some of the most fun events out there. The vibe is great and what better way to ride them young... and ride them often!
Just think of how good you will be when you are 19?!?!?!?!
