If you decide to get snowboard pants for skiing, try to get a seamstress to sew on some really strong/think fabric on the insides of the bottom of your pant legs, or your skis will start slicing your pants open...

my pants actually only come down halfay way or so on my boots
no chance for and slicing

He don't need to worry about slicing while slaying the bunny slopes. Yeah Green runs.

good point. mine are pretty sliced up.
The place across the street from MEC ("Stitches"?) did a great job sewing patches on my sliced up ski pants ... cost me $40 though :S
Cheapo alternative - get some iron-on patches from MEC for a couple of dollars ;)

Depends how much you ski... It works for a bit...
Tried that, for about 1/2 a season, then had to use some duct-tape... It looked pretty messy.
If you have a good pair of pants, it's worth the money to get it done properly...
