Is there such a thing as "trickle-up effect" in business? If there is, this might be good for Hayes.

Another example of bigger is better. I wonder if this will restart the hayes gearbox project - now they have wheels, brakes, suspension and a drivetrain....

So if my logic is correct, then:

Half ass company + half ass company = one decent company.

Congrats to Hayes and Manitou. Now let's funnel some of the profits into some serious R&D and quality control.

Good luck.

i've had great luck with Manitou forks/shocks and when there is an issue, turn around is very fast....

Got me. ;)

For the record, 11 days and nothing broken.

Back on track, more R&D and quality control please.

So... is OGC still going to be selling and servicing Manitou? I run their forks because of the awesome service I've recieved from James et. al. but I've never recieved that level support from the big N.

I'm just curious because everything else "Hayes" has moved to Norco... including... well hayes.

Hayes has always been at OGC, not sure where you are getting your information from.

Hayes has been taken by Norco next year... its not a big thing.. everyone has 2007 OGC cats at their shops... There is no Hayes Tab... Norco now Does hayes brakes.

If you use Hayes you already have a brake problem.

Responding to these kinds of posts only encourages them. Ignore them and they'll go away. They are so lame they aren't worth arguing with, it isn't worth your time.

For the record, when OGC was doing Hayes repair work, they did the same level of superb service as they presently do with Answer products....I have first hand experience with OGC service with both products

idk why you guys think Hayes sucks so much... I mean they aren't the best but they don't suck. I've had my Hayes Nine's for 4 years now and they work prefectly. I've never bled them, just new pads from time to time.... If this works out same way Sram/RockShox did, I think it's a good future for both companies

Hayes brakes are fine... until you ride with something else. If you are happy with your hayes, then that's awesome, I had a couple of sets that needed constant bleeding, were always getting stuck pistons and just never gave me the confidence I needed, I switched to Avid and won't look back, My wife's bike has Hayes and they are solid brakes, therefore I conclude there are some serious quality inconsistencies.

Im not really sure if i like this. No offense to hayes, but there parts seem to be quite expensive. Does this now mean that manitouis parts will go up in price ?

I ride hayes, and i love em, but regardless, they are a little budget breaking :|

prices wont change.. if anyone noticed. 07 manitou is a bit cheeper.. the NEW travis 150.. come with integraded Logo on the legs.. and a Velvet Bag that the fork goes in.. very sexy best looking fork...

Um, where did the www.answerproducts.com page go??? I was going to look for some tech info for my fork (can't find my manual) and I get the usual 404 error page not found.

Thanks!

That's what I thought. I checked the Hayes website before I posted here just in case, but no dice. I didn't spot any links to Answer (nor links to Sun Rims, or Wheelsmith). Oh well, if anyone knows the minimum seal to crown height for a Travis Triple 180 it would be much appreciated.

Tanks,

Dave

Looking for info for my Travis triple with 180mm of travel. I just need to know the minimum distance between the seal and the crown. I think it is something like 225mm, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

Dave

ps. If you're at work tomorrow say hi to JF from Dave Kishi.
