I can't believe how long that Alpine Study is taking. Do they have a release date ?
Thanks Sharon and Lee. I'm looking forward to a more 'expressive' Lee in the near future.
JR; as for the Alpine Study, I believe it’s an iterative process, so as for an end date, don't hold your breath.

yesss. I'm on the front page.. all in all a very informative meeting. MTBers are a serious force to reckon with. I enjoyed the stories of 3 hikers total out to the trail days on BP etc.

I's good to hear that many people showed up for the meeting. I'm not sure on the total numbers of nsmba, but there was only 30-40 licensed people show up out of 2300 who were eligable for the cycling bc agm last weekend.

Who wears a bright orange Jacket to the AGM... ^^^ Gawsh...
Jokes jokes,
Bur good to hear about the overall direction. It would be foolish for the districts to mess with the bikers of the north shore.

It was an amazing meeting. Person after person spoke out eloquently, passionately, and respectfully of the proposed name change. It really drove home the commitment of this community to the organization and was inspiring.
Equally or more inspiring was the organization building that Lee and Sharon have done over the last 4 years. It's conceivable that without their drive, we might not be riding on The Shore today. To steal Hootie's quote, "On a scale of 1 to 10, they come in around 17 and change"
The new board has huge shoes to fill, but I think we are in good stead with the new crew. Thank you Dieter, Sven, Keith, Cliff, Richard, and Ken for stepping up and taking on a huge job. You guys rock!

Great article cam!
It's because of the great mountain biking community and everyone's commitment to the trails we love that will ensure the continued success of the NSMBA.
This year will be an important one for the organization since the restructing will determine the future direction.
Now is a really good time to get involved and make your mark!

It was great to be a part of this meeting. It was the most passion and articulation from speakers that I've seen at an NSMBA meeting yet. Lot's of great dialogue and lots of stoke as we move into 2007. 2007 It should be a very exciting year for the NSMBA. Sometimes challenges reveal the greatest rewards...
As Sharon says, there is no better time than now... Make a difference in your MTB community, get involved!

Cycling BC could improve their turnout if they ramp up their communication efforts with their clubs and members. As a Cycing BC club co-owner and operator, not being informed of the meeting makes it difficult to attend. Posting it on their website 3 days before-hand is barely cutting it. The NSMBA had people informed.
Also, if the Cycling BC meeting was pushed back into November, more people could make the meeting as most clubs in the Lower Mainland are still running club activities on weekends (mid-day) in October. We wanted to be there...
We look forward to another great year with the NSMBA and a successful passing of the torch, from Sharon and Lee, to the new Directors.
Thank you for all of your remarkable efforts and commitment Sharon. Lee, that was the best mass-firing of a board I've witnessed yet. Let that fire burn!

NSMBA communication is certainly made easier by the NSMB.com support and boards. Without this BB, I'm not sure that the meeting and trail day notices would be as widely read.

Cam,
Thanks for all your support. You've been one of the best friends of the trails for a long long time. Even when you're super-busy you've always made it a priority to help us out. Big thanks to you.

Who wears a bright orange Jacket to the AGM... ^^^ Gawsh...
Someone forgot to send me the memo about only wearing green jackets to the AGM. I would have dug deeper into the closet for the green and bypassed the orange. Actually I blame Lee for his demands that all jackets pass the photo slut bright colours test.
Good turn out to the AGM, good to hear all the comments.

sorry a clash with family commitments prevented me from attending this years AGM.
Many, many thanks to Sharon, Jeremy and Lee who have given so much since day 1 of NSMBA - 90% of their tireless efforts unknown by the masses because none of them are horn blowers and definately underappreciated because of this.
So who's who in the new scheme of things. Who's the new Head Honch?

I actually liked the name chg idea. I am one of the dolts who was confused (briefly) by the nsmb and nsmba name similarity.
like cam said , "if sharon thinks it's a good idea, it must be." was pretty much right.
