WEll, as some of you know (very few) I have proposed a bike pike to the pitt meadows city council. So far I have

Contacted Ridge Meadows BMX, about location and if its okay, was told that

"I think the area if he wants to open up discussion about where to put the
bike park would be behind the 3rd burm not the parking lot.
Our opinion is the parking lot is needed by bmx if we have a busy weekday
night as in the
beginning of the season and national races we use a lot of room"

this responce was today, i sent the email a few days ago, so chances are its gonna be a few days until i get a further responce.

Contaced FVMBA (thanks bansheeair for suggestion) about how theyve got parks and asked for support and the next step

Made a presentation with some buds to city council as well as gave them a binder full of info and sheets for themselves and to kee pat city hall to pass around about the park and benefits and a slight overview of it.

Had two interviews which where in fridays and saturdays papers (Maple ridge/ Pitt M Times and News)

Just took about an hours worth of notes and info from other parks about safety, features etc etc for my version 2.0 bike park proposition which i hope to finish over the weekend and hand in to city hall

So, What do you fell my next step should be ? What all should i put in the version 2.0 report ? Thanks

Kid, I get the feeling that silence in this case should be taken as complimentary. Great initiative, keep it up!

Got an email back

Hi Josh
I haven't forgotten about you regarding your presentation to the
commission on the Bike Park request. I would like to suggest that we set
up a short meeting around mid January 07, to discuss where we should go
with this from here.

Some of the topics to discuss probably should include:

Types of challenges and difficulty ratings
Size of area required for this sport
Where a facility like this should be placed if we could find a suitable
site
Site safety
Parent participation in the process
Development of a public process to determine needs and wishes etc.

I'm sure there are other things in addition to the above; however this
would be a good start.

I can be contacted at the attached numbers and address if you have any
questions in the mean time.
Thanks

any suggestions for what i should answer to those points with ?

You need to get together with people who have made this happen in other areas. No need to re-invent the wheel, just copy what they have done.

Ive talked to many people who have tried, ithink 3 or 4 as well as the king himself, hooty. Ive followed what he suggested lots.

Types of challenges and difficulty ratings
Size of area required for this sport
Where a facility like this should be placed if we could find a suitable
site
Site safety
