Hey Mike, i saw the trench you built at the beginging of stairway. Looks like alot of work, all you needed to do was shovel out the puddle then fill it in and raise it with some big boulders, i'm just worried about asthetics. Oh well.

I think for this trail maintanance day, we're all gonna show up at 10 at the school and depending on how many people show will decide on what we're focusing on. Personally i'd like to see the DJ's above the goats touched up to get rid of all that mush:rolleyes: Also at the end, that creek crossing that's kind of one big mess. Maybe we might try and get a small crew togther to split rungs to replace the fencing stuff on the Stairway ladder.

Who knows, just show up cause there is lots of stuff that needs work, even the section we worked on last trail day.

I was in there today working on the bottom of BM and working on unplugging the puddle on the logride in the middle. The bottom's gonna be sweet when i'm done:D

Yeah, i heard that too. There isn't that much, so don't worry about 30 people picking up garbage for a few hours:rolleyes:

It is a good idea though. I think the goats wanna get rid of all the old wood from the old stump drop and also that stupid black plastic tarp/bad thingie between Stairway and Lower Simons has got to go.

There is a ton of garbage all through the park if you slow down and take a look. There is stuff on goats, stairway, bender, the drop trail, not to mention all the other garbage that isn't from riders. There is at least a truck load of shit thats been there for years. If you look on the bank on the high side of the road up to the meadow there is an old washing machine and some old car tires, there is what looks like a fiberglass truck box and fuel tank just off the west end of the meadow, there is an old golf bag cart on bender. ther is the big piece of plastic by stairway. It goes on and on. I think we should get a pic of all the crap we cart out and send a copy to the papers and the parks board.;)

I also think that a group should cruise around and drain and fill puddles... that will keep 3 or 4 guys busy for about a week at least:rolleyes:

We really should spend the trail days fixing multi use trails for brownie points and save the work on mountain bike specific trails for our own time.

I doubt there are really effective "browny points" with the parks board....... I mean if it was absolutely filthy then maybe, but it's not bad so I don't think too many people will notice. It has to be done anyway.

I agree that the multi-use trails need the most work. The stuff that needs work on MTB trails are fairly small jobs, its some spots on the multi-use trails that require a lot of man power.

I like the note that Brett put up at the Keyosks (sp?) about the trail day. He said for everyone to come out, "MTBr's, hikers and HORSERIDERS" it's funny cause i think they might not like being called that instead of EQUESTRIANS:rolleyes:

Oh well, hey Mike, I was wondering if i could borrow your spade once in a while, if that's cool just let me know the where abouts. PM me of course;)

Yes 10 and that's not all that we'll be doing unless only 5 people show. With a good turn out we should get a chance to fix up a couple spots.

Another good spot would be at the school if you go into the shed to the left and fix up that muck area just before it meets up with the main trail again. When it rains now it's mucky as sh!t.

And stop trying to catch up to me:P

True, but other than that one purpose, it shouldn't be there.

Awesome trail day today, can't wait to see how it packs with some rain. Thanks to the family of 6 (mom, dad, 4 year old girl, 7 year old girl, 10 year old girl and 13 year old boy) that came out and helped, even the youngest one did more work than alot of riders out there. Really great to see.

Also, i got to meet the cop that's incharge with dealing with the trail Nazi case, nice guy and he took pics of the family too.

Now i wanna go ride but i'm stuck in class now:(

The DJ's above the Goat's has been fixed, the entrance to Stairway had some standing water that was originally "worked on" (no offence Mike, me and everyone appreciate your hard work), that has now been rocked. Also, the trail that by-passes Stairway had tree fallen across from the windstorm, there is now an A-frame over it. All the garbage that was in the shed is gone. (waste from repaired stunts, etc. and just shit in general).

Also, work was done to the Drop trail, but i'm not sure to what extent.

Like i said, we'll see how it packs with some rain, but so far looks good:D

No offence taken, live and learn. I cut the tree out of the way where you put that A-frame. I was going to put a better A-frame in, but it wasn't worth it. That log can be used for rungs. Awesome trail day. We should have one every month or even two.

We used all the pier material for the bridge across the ditch at the bottom of the drop trail so now you can ride out with ease from the drop trail or 6 seconds. We also cleared out all the old pallet scrap etc. Me and Brett and a few other peeps have been discussing what to do with that great run in to the super pier. We want to do something that will boot some serious air but we want it to be nazi proof and look cool so nothing has been decided yet. It will be rebuilt some time fairly soon and it will boot big air:D The end result will probbly be one big hit and then the other line will be xc small hit out.

Shed was wet and muddy Sunday, but a great ride all around. Good rock work on Stairway, and the gaps above goats are nice, however they are a little off line. bruiser, ride24/7, and myself had trouble hitting the second gap. The line is a little funny, I think the second tranny needs to move over about a foot to the left. All in all we had a good ride definately the muddiest of the season. :fro:

I did a little work on 6 seconds today.... I put in a steep little roll down ladder on the second drop so you don't have to huck it when it's wet and greasy. Now you can roll it and make the corner easily when its slick.... not to worry it is still huckable for those who want to;)

That drop sucks on a ht cause it's too flat coming into the corner. How is the dip between the step-down and the step-up, is it still a bit soupy:???: Job well done Al

I'm gonna get in there thursday for a couple hours and work on BM. I wanna get the bottom finished before i finish rocking the top, to try and discourage people from riding it right now till the bottom is finished.

As long as I don't get to much homework (and considering the wheather is fairly nice), I'll be riding in the Shed tommorow, Thursday, and Friday after school (3:45-5:30?). So if any body is interested just let me know. I'm always looking for people to ride with. So starting with tommorow (wednesday) who is interested?

Oh! and about the Shed Head shore ride, I could go on Saturday (if not I 'll go to Seymour). but Sunday doesn't work for me. Probably going to the Shed Sunday.

white rock dirt jumps arent bad. theirs 4 rows. with 3 sizes for each row. then some trails around too.

i busted the right side of my rst fork today too. so now i bottom out really easy. and my tire rubs against the fork when i bottom out. yay.
if anyone happens to have a old rst or suntour or other really really cheap fork they want to give me or sell for like 20 bucks let me know. i need something to replace this thing temporarily

so i guess ill come down to the watershed tomorrow and hang out. maybe work a bit and ride a bunch. maybe ill do some ladders for the first time.

Yeah..it was awesome...we left at about 3:45 :thepimp:.

We went solo for a while, just the 3 of us and played on mr.twister.

Then ran into bruiser and ride at the jump trail (which has REAL jumps on it now! no one said anything! fun fun fun). And rode with them for a while.

Awesome ride. I can't go tomorrow, next Sat though for sure!

Nice, but I'm not much into gaps. They've scared me since I did a forward flip to back landing on one. I'm all for the tables personally. Also, I was thinking this for two other reasons:
1. Less work. Already there, an afternoon and they could be ready for jumpage.

2. The city has said no new building for the time being, just maintenance on existing trails. This IS maintenance. The lips have packed, so have to be fixed and improved.

But anyway, no hurry, since in my current out-of-practice state, they're great for getting my groove back.

Gaps are the pro. It'll be a while before Stairway is finished. So hopefully when we start our Gap trail things with the parks board will be straightend out. We're not going to build pinner gaps either, 10'-15'.

You should have seen Mark hit the jump after the second table, he actually got about 5 feet of air, not bad for third ride. Then he went back and hit it again and found out why he needs to invest in some leg armour :D. All i want is a straight answer with reasons. Then i'll understand. ;) It's fine if I do most or all the work but more help would be way better than just saying "good job, keep up the good work" so when summer comes around the corner stairway will be finished.

The idea was good.... but the execution was poor:( The problem is they are way too short for thier hieght, but the builders have already dug out a bunch of bomb crater size holes for material so making them longer without trucking in materials is not really an option:(

Who built them? When we were there I was looking the HUGE craters that must be around, but I couldn't find any?

This is why I suggested that we steepen them. My weekends will be nice and empty in a few more weeks, so I can come in to help. Just on the takeoff, add one or two more logs on either side to make a frame, then add more dirt. Finally, add kind of a dirt kicker/lip to make it a bit more vert.

Trick jumps with very little work!
