I will be at hwy 10 at about 9. I will need some help bringing in some ladder bridges and pallets. I will be driving a gray Dakota.
I'll be there at 10 cause i gotta late night tonight (work) I left a few supplies under the small Peir if anybody needs a shovel or rake or bucket. I'm gonna be parking at the school cause the piping is over by Simon Says:(
And i was looking at the drop trail today, and boy is it gonna be alot of work and i'm still not sure what the best plan is, we'll see tommorrow. As for Rampage and his DJ's, do you have a spot in mind:???:
I might show up around 9 and just maybe have a snooze later in the day. I'm gonna bring my bike to test things out.
And if anybody's gotta digi cam, they should bring it so we can do a before and after

i'll talk more later. I gotta get to the shed.
Apparantly we need city approval to do abit of drainage work in the shed:rolleyes:
Hopefully some things can get resolved, i can't get into it now, but we were threatened by a big tough park's worker that said within a month the Drop trail's gonna get a make over:mad: because he wasn't notified.
When have they lifted a finger to help us with anything. There answer is spending thousands of dollars on gravel to make highway trails and inadvertantly flooding out areas. All we want is some moral support for our free labour:mad:

I just wanted to say thanks to the few people that actually showed up to make a day out of it.
A quick thanks also goes to those riders who put their bikes down for a bit when they either almost ran us over ;) or noticed some construction.
The run up to super pier is definately :thepimp:'in. Just some minor details are needed.. mainly rain and people who understand the ride dont slide mantra.

I'm an and I'm not - who knows if he was serious but at the same time, if he is... bad news. But I'm about to call Jimmy Goat to make sure he got the message earlier or re-iterate it. Not only can the Corp./City not lift a finger, as far as I know they're not making the vital information available to us as to how we're supposed to go about the building and maintaning of the trail system. Thats what grabs my bag - if they say we can use the watershed, let us know what they're guidelines are. Although I'm not sure if I'd like to see what the guidelines would be. It might read like "Sector 7a - No trail may be 3 inches off the ground - nor can any dirt be dug and deadfall uprooted to protect the eco-system"
I sometimes feel they have a discouraging agenda in mind to almost get us out of the shed at times.

Me and some friends passed through yesterday but didn't stop to help because frankly, we were not impressed with the attitude of the workers at all. Obviously some anger had to do with it.. but you guys assumed we were freeloading jerkoffs right from the start and that doesnt make me wanna hang out and spend time there. I also live on Burke and that was the first time I'd been there, and I'm a believer in doing trail work to your home turf, and visiting other people's work. If I start riding there a few times I'll certainly be up for some trail work but hopefully everyone's calmed down and not being an ass then.

That was unfoutunate and I hope you don't hold it against them, the guy who headed up the trail day figured that 20 or so people would show up and unfourtunatly they didn't which lead to some annoyance.
I would apologize cause I was not there when I said I was going to be there and may have added to some of that tension.

Sorry about that, things were kinda stressed with the whole parks people coming in and threatening to tear it all down cause we didn't tell this particular Ranger guy:rolleyes: So we were all pretty edgy at that point. I remember a group of riders that came down on VPS's and i was yelling, just letting them know that people were down below and one of them said that we should block the entrance, so i did (a good idea) but 10 min later, some other riders came and took it down.
And i have to apologize for Al, he puts in alot of hard work and time in there and sometimes he gets the better of himself, don't take it personally. Next time you come in for a ride, just give one of us regulars a shout and we'd be happy to show you around. Again, sorry

No worries, like I mentioned, I could tell there was some tension and I remembered reading about the Parks issue so I figured that had a lot to do with it. I can completely understand how when you put that much work into something, you become defensive and protective of it.
I do want to say, the new work looks really great. And I had a blast in there. If I start coming out there a few times this year I'll certainly be up to help with some trail maintenance. Thanks for the apology and explanation, that was nice of ya. :fro:

How was the run-up? Is it already slick? It's gotta rough cut texture to it so i don't know if it'll need it, for a while at least.
And i was out for drinks today with a close friend of mine and she was telling me about her moms job, which apparently is one of the head people at the Delta Parks and Recs for the city of Delta:D I'm gonna try and contact her sometime in the next week or so to ask about issues, i'm even gonna ask about the possibility of and area with sanctioned DJ's. I don't know, she's a really nice person. When she worked for the Richmond council, she was the driving force behind the skate park and other projects.

I'm thinkin about bringing my bike and some tools down saturday morning/afternoon just to do some preventative maintenance on the work we just did on Sat. And I also might try to dig up some big o pipe up for the drainage in the drop trail and fix up the ditch before and beside the super pier.
I also want to hit the Super pier with the dualie - every time i've hit it, its been on my hardtail.
I think even if we just had the amount of people we had on Sat for maint. on any given trail, the shed would be looking great in no time.

Maybe we should do some field trips to Burke one day and then you guys come back out here for a guided tour. It'd be nice to have a sort of local tour thing going on. I think it could definately improve the communities and also share idea's among builders.

Yeah, he did it 3 times in a row, and wanted to ride every structure. Of course being the concerend parent, I had to say no. OK, ther real story is that if I was afraid to do it, I wouldn't let him - I can't have my son showing me up at 11.

If you mean the one thats right beside where the money drop is/was (not sure if its still kickin) but I've seen.
Quite nice... not sure if anyone's built up a tranny to it yet but if I remember it looked like an awkward landing spot.
yeah, i've heard of a few guys hucking that rock:|

I havent heard back from Jimmy/Brett yet - I think he's the only one who has my number. I'm down for both again. I'm interested in seeing how the work has stood up over a week and if we need to work on the ditch/drainage and hittin the pier .. in no particular order. Let me know if I need to drag the Big O pipe over towards the drop trail and i'll head in there after work this week sometime.
I think that rock or the frankendrop is doable... almost pedal kickable at that...
And are there any other shed heads in the Indoor North Shore Comp?

Yea that rock drop is kinda sketch and pretty big. There used to be a bridge/ladder drop right by it by it got taken down. It was called the money drop. U could go anywhere from 8-9 to like 15 probably. But its just an issue of stopping as when u hit the ground u tend to take off super fast.

oh yeh, i talked to brett today after a ride and he said that trials ARE most likely going to be torn down and that stairway:mad: is on that list with some other trails including the two piers:mad: he said for not anyone to build anything for a bit and to basically lay low..... also if you see workers taking stuff down don't be an ass an swear your heads off cause that will only make us look worse. hes trying to come to terms with the delta parks board and anyone who is a rider of the shed or builder should come on FEBURARY 1st, most likely meet in the middle(the meadow) my bet is the more people we have there, the better chances we will have in to coming to even terms with them..

dj, where and more than one defiently.... im in for sure, i gots some good spots too that are hidden
I went in there today and the only this torn down was the last little log/drop thingie on Bender. It's strange, cause last year when they ripped it out they left a big pile of wood, this time they cleared it all out, it looks like nothing was ever there. The drop trail is still intact and looks good with the new work, even with all the rain, the creek runs perfectly under the ladder run-up to the Super Peir. There was one section just below the peirs where the creek jumped over and was flowing all over the place so i fixed it and now it's all good again. It would be ashame to see all that good work go to waste:(
As for Stairway, it's still there. And I closed off Lower Simon's by covering it all up with branches and logs, so if you see it, just leave it until we get things figured out with the city. I don't want BM to be found, just in case they tear down Stairway, then see Lower Simon's and tear that down, then finding BM and so on, so that's why i covered it up.

why though? i think nsmb should try and get some board wide turnouts and a petition on their front page. i mean seriously. the shed is turning in to a sweet place and it seems everytime it gets good it gets trashed again.
maybe remove the super pier and mini pier. stash em in the bushes and put em back in. i mean a bit of work moving and rebuilding but better than having it hacked up and taken away.
youd have to be a blind deaf and dumb chimp to hurt yourself on stairway. the drop is uber smooth, the skinny logs duhhhh obviously you can tell they're hard. the triple teeter you can go around...the ladder is super wide....jeez...

As for Zaskar's idea about taking the peirs down ourselves, I had the same thought except it was on a more wide scale basis than just the piers - I'm mainly concerned about log rides. Man that triple teeter and the stunts that follow are incredibly well built, if they get torn down I'm gonna lose it!
What I would do, is just ask the parks guys flat out - are the stunts going to go, and which ones need to. Then take them down yourselfs, pack em into the back of someone's truck and store them at someone's place, or stash them if there's a good safe place to do so (what am I saying, I'm sure there is!)
Sure beats having all the supplies taken away!
When I was at the Shed, and me and a few friends were riding the triple teeter n stuff, there was a couple families that stopped to watch, and they seemed to really get a kick out of watching. I think that the stunts are actually an attraction for many of the non-freeride users as well, as long as the bikers riding the stunts are friendly. Also it's a tourist attraction for other bike enthusiasts. I hope Parks realizes this!

There is a meeting on Saturday for all the Shed riders. I think the plan was just to discuss what is happening and what needs to happen. I beleive the meeting is at 10 am (I'm not positive though). On Sunday there will be a trail day that starts at 10 am. From what i understand shovels and stuff will be provided and we will be working on the trail that runs from the end of goats to Stairway. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
You are correct. The meeting on the 1st (saturday) is a 10am and will be at the school, after we talk and stuff we'll go a rip. On Sunday, we show up at or around 10am i'm not sure where, either at the school or the spot where the maintanance is happening and Brett was saying he's got lots of tools but i'm not 100% sure if he's bringing enoughf

I think you meant a different Dave. But I totally agree with the control issue - considering we've payed for some of the supplies in the watershed already, why dont we have this control already?
What we need next is this:
www.shedbikeclub.com
a site where all can be informed about the current state of the shed, the issue's concerning the shed, scheduled meetings for the members and riders, etc. If anyone would be interested in this, I have friends who run a hosting and website development company and one used to ride in the shed - could probably hook up a sweet little deal.

I'll be there Sunday at 10 and Saturday but i gotta do some wedding cake shopping in the early morn so hopefully i'll be there by 10, if not then i'll show up a bit late.
Oh yeah, who built the new big DJ that blocks one of the existing trails between the Goats and Lower Simon's. Probably not a good idea for 2 reasons, first there's the whole "everything in the shed right now is in jeperdy as is" the last thing we need is to make it final with building new stuff. If someone wants to build something, fill in a FU@#N puddle with some rocks, don't F@#K it up for everyone else. It's a cool jump, don't get me wrong, I want jumps too, but not now and not in the middle of an existing trail. Don't be suprised if it's gone on Sunday, cause we'll be building right near it and i'm pretty sure the consencous will be to remove it.

hey simon, that dirt jump yer talking about was/is being built by adam[not you biking fiend] and a couple of his bmx buddies.i told him before to hold off on building anything until we figure out whats going on.if it stays the stump on the tranny will have to chainsawed out because someone could really get hurt.the run up also needs to be better as well.axx i cant belive you haven't been to the shed in 2 months dude.that's grounds for dismissal.what do you think shed heads?;) i will be ther this weekend to save and ride the shed boyz

Still needs work. The run up needs improvement, as well as the tranny, and the stump by the tranny has to go or someones gonna lose a head. I see potential though, and I don't think he's done.
He still should have waited for all the Shed Politics to be sorted before building.
and yeah, it's a big kicker, not for distance, height...

yea one of our bud's tried to hit it (name's mike on a '01 shore with '02 monsters) and he couldn't get nearly enough speed and ended up landing on the tranny with his bashring!
I'm definitely going tomorrow, even though 10's so early..... With some friends. I need to get rid of my front V brake so bad and finally buy a front hydro!
IF anybody has a front 6 inch hydro for sale that's in really good shape I'll buy it, as long as I can try it out first!!!
Oh, and Simon I'm probably going to ride on saturday but for the trail day on sunday I'd like to bring my cranks so you can take 'em to your lbs and get 'em warrantied (if that's ok)??? It's effecting my manualing and pissing me off.
SO THE MEETINGS AT 10:00 AM AT PINEWOOD, RIGHT??

Wellll.......I went to the shed today....started on a trail with a log ride called Mr. Twister...did it first try....then did some other trails...then we found some dirt jumps near a river bed...did those...headed down another trail...found a ladder called Stairway (to heaven?). didnt do it, cause of the big drop at the end, but did the simple log/teeter after it...on the teeter, when coming off, i slipped and fell on the left of it....my friend drove me home with a left elbow the size of a softball...then went to emergency, to be told i broke my elbow, and that i couldnt ride for 6 weeks. Sucks to be me....
Cheers, Nelson
shit dude that sucks:(
Rhubes, no prob with the cranks, i'll take them in and see what can be done, see ya tommorrow at 10

Hey Ian, you'll get out there one day again:rolleyes: :P And did you end up showing up to help out Wade, i helped him for about 5minutes  Next time
Not to sound ****y, but that drop on 6 seconds isn't that hard, relative to like the Goats stump or the drop at the top of the Goats. It's nice cause since it has a nice steep long runout, you can get away with nosing it quite a bit and still ride out smooth. 6 seconds is alot of fun, i like the drop right at the top into the first bank and the step-up is fun too:D
shiat, they won't let me put c0cky in
c0cky's not a bad word, what about **** a doodle doo
