I bin a workin' away again in the ole shedarooner... The first drop is in at the top of the steep section west of the old BM. If anyone is going to be in there this weekend hit it up and let me know what you think. Hopefully I'll have the bigger one at the bottom done next week sometime:D

I'll be probably at the swamp at the bottom of the goat jumps from say 2 till 4.

Does the word swamp imply that the drainage work efforts that have been werent to successful for the long haul?

the swamp is from the fact that the standing water has no place to go, but hopefully with the work i did today it should be a good start.

I just gotta see how it packs in the next week or so. I saw Brett and the parks guys and the parks guy was saying that last trail day they were gonna get us some more crushed rock for the last trail but it didn't happen.

It's still a hell offa lot better last year. It WAS just some standing water and at least most of it was running through.

Goat jumps are not bad, but they need some gold to hold that crushed rock together

who keeps taking the gravel from the table of the jumps and putting it on the lips??? it's making the jumps worse cause the gravel doesn't pack by itself, it needs gold. There was also soil being added to stuff to, that shit it gonna just turn into muck, please use gold. Just friendly trail building tip

What trail??, down by lower simons and stairway?

I'm thinking that we are gonna need more rungs for those 2 trails, we got a little but it's amazing how fast you go through it.

I brought in a new plastic splitter for the cedar, it's in with Al's stuff;) So some cedar would be nice.

Anything will help, rocks, cedar(for rungs) or for poles, just start a pile on the side of the trail. I started a rock pile just past the entrance to stairway on the right, there's tons of nice rocks in there.


I was in there today and the jumps look great, just gotta hope that it stays dry after this bit of rain so they can pack down.

I went for a bit of a walk today in the shed and i tons of puddles in spots wherei never thought there would be puddles:eek:

But the spot at the end of the Goat jumps is bone dry. That work at the trail day was well needed and looks great. Also the jumps look alot better, almost like real jumps.

Just talked to Brett... there will be no trail day on dec 5. We had planned to have one that day but it's not going to happen.

So thanks to everyone fort thier help this year and we will be getting something together in january.

I got the ghetto HT going:D I'm re-learning 3 finger braking again ( V- brakes in the rain:rolleyes: ) I took it into the shed this morning and i have to say HACK. I haven't ridden a HT for about 3 years and I can tell you it feels wierd. Theres nothing like going from a 7+7 shore to a 4" HT to make you realize how much the suspension does.:D Oh well i guess I'll have to just ride lots and get used to it;)

Rode today w/ ride24/7 and bruiser d and the rest of the goats. awesome ride shed is dry enough to enjoy and the weather held up. also saw a good reason why bike maintenance is sooooooo very important. HOW'S UR SIDE DAVE. ur body is worth the 90 bucks it'll cost for a new hub, hope ur not tooo sore but it was a good effort anyways. Here's a chance for you young to slag the big man while he's down :P :D :P :D

freewheel slipped causing an already extremely slow pedal kick off the goats log to take a drastic turn resulting on bruiser going over the front of his bike as it nosed to the ground in a blaze of glory. he took the full brunt of the impact on his side and at that weight ooooowwwwwwwww, just joking hehe :P

i'm really f'in sore today but i played russian roullette with a sketchy hub and lost big time. thanks to the boys who picked me up.it's funny that i nailed every part of my body that was not covered by my armour:mad: .hopefully santa will bring me a new hub.......................the worst part was having to walk my bloody bike home f'ed up because of the hub being shot. tylenol 3's and vitamin I's going down real good at work today...............i need a hot tub.............and get your digs in now boyz.....flame on.........cause the bruiser man will be back before ya know it................leson to you y'all ..........bike maintenance and keep yourself in shape so you will heal faster.

Hey everybody, I'm giving a shout-out from VGH (van general hospital) as APPARENTLY I have Leukemia..

Been in here since last tuesday, in a rather sudden turn of events, which started with a few weeks of flui-ish type sickness, and then a bloodtest that showed skyrocketed white blood cell count and a request to go to the hospital right away..

I'll be here for a while, at least until New Years, and then probably I will be in remission, and then from there I probably get a bonemarrow translplant, which means 3-4 weeks more in the hospital..

Hopefully sometime in between the next month or so I'll be able to do some out-patient treatment (which means coming in to the hospital every morning for chemo treatment, and then getting to go home afterwards, which would be nice)..

I have a pretty nice setup now though, playstation 2, cable tv, dvd player, books, my own room with a great view, and my own shower, and a bunch of nice family and friends and nurses that are on beck and call all the time...

I'm healthy, and they caught the leukemia youg and there should be no probably beating it, I've just gotta be here for a while...

So I thought I'd just give you all an update, as you're my closest buds on nsmb, and let you know that I'll be back riding sometime in late January or February hopefully :D

hey this is just an idea but is there anywhere in or near the Shed that there can be a race or something? cost would be like $3-5 and all cash would go to Pauls family for the cost of gas or whatever having to drive back and forth to see him.

there are an assload of Shedheads. 40x$5=$200. its not much but it would help.

Are you talking xc race or dh/freeride race... I'd like to do a rip down the "shed trail " pinewwod-simons-goatjumps-goats-stairway-new drop line. Timed with time bonus for cleaning the log rides etc.:D I'm not sure our insurance would cover it though:P

first of all I'm totally down with this

however not to put a dampner in the plan, if cycling bc gets wind of this without goin through them.. they will might sh*t. I'm not sure what the stipulation is, but, usually for events liek this, there needs to be insurance and all the BS. I don't think that just getting peopel to sign a waiver is going to be enough?

I didn't do the NS challenges, but I know that there were insurance and all that crap that people had to go through, i.e. 25 bux on top of the entry fee.

How does whistler do the toonie races? Perhaps and hopefully I'm wrong.. but lets not go and get City of Delta lawsuit... just a thought.

I started working on the tranny at the end of lower simons. My plan is for a gapper of the end of the bouncey log...If anyone is in there and feels like being helpfull I need lots of rocks. You'll see where to put them. There are lots of rocks below and to the west of stairway.

Ralph - usually there's some form of ride going on a Wed. night. Usually at Pinewood at 7pm - either it'll be the old timer xc'ers or some of the almost old timers who'll ride with anyone who wants to :)

It works fine:D I could have made the gap a little bigger but whatever it's still fun.

did you just build the tranny on the left over log or did you make a tranny closer to the end?

Closer to the end, it can be ridden almost straight or hipped out. I've got some ideas for a easier roll down exit half way down the log as well. Plus a messed idea where i would salvage the teeters from slapper and make a double swivel teeter that would turn you through 90 degrees and onto that big rock beside the log.

I've got waaaay more ideas than time.:rolleyes:
