Me, bruiser , and all the goats hit up the shed for a huge sesh fest. spent an hour screwing around at goats hitting up the fan to gap. The highlight of the ride was watching Aaron and jimmy hit the 20/20 drop and go huge. Aarons wheels were at eye level on the way over the lip  If you include the hight they gopt off the kicker they were dropping a good 20'. :thepimp:

I'm so jealous... I wanna watch them do it too!

I wanna do it too, probably the frankendrop first though..

They probably hit it on their hard tails did they?

So Ritalin, Brendan, chad, maybe Sunday then?

It was a great ride in da shed with da boys.lots of fun sessioning simons and goats...............finally got that step up gap on goats:D ..............watching aaron and jimmy go uber f'in huge off of 20/20 was definently my highlight too..........not knocking any of you guys..........but i don't think there are many shed heads that would do the 20/20 let alone go that f'in big.both of those studs almost landed flat at the bottom:eek: i would hate to see someone really hurt themselves on that because you could really fuck yourself up bigtime..sorry dudes just the bruiser man acting like a dad:thepimp:

Aaron did it from to very top all the way through... Jimmy would have but we had to yell at him to stop cuz Aaron was still on the tranny. He backed up to just above the step down and hit it up.

You just wait. Me, Reckless, and Ritalin will hit it up within a year I say, maybe sooner, maybe not... :P

I don't know for sure, but I definitely wanna hit the frankendrop first, then the 20-20..

The scariest thing about the 20-20 is the fact that you have to remain in such precision control off the gapper in order to stay smooth on the actual drop part..

aShogunNamedMarcus

Yep, this thread is almost 2 years old. Pretty neat.

I'll start a new one when the shed gets either 3 new trails done (stairway can be included), OR a dirt jump park. Whichever comes first...

Otherwise I'll make a new one when he hit 1000 pages..

UNLESS someone can find the record for the longest thread on a bb, and then if were ANYWHERE near it, we'll BREAK IT!

I really blow on my ht... And I don't wanna try and get re-used to the balfa frame, when I want to sell it...

I'd rather do what Ritalin suggested and go hit up some roadgaps in Abby..

WRONG.

It has a double meaning.

You're supposed to be able to go 20-20 on it, if you land close enough to the bottom...

It's pretty damn close if you do. The drop is anyways.

Yah only 2 years of his life... such a shame because his work is just sturdy. No if's and maybe's - it just is.

But what Dan has done with that trail is potentially ruin things for everyone just for his own benefit. Dan knew that no new trails were to be constructed and he did so anyways. It was just a matter of time.

Dan goes on to mention how there are other trails that are in need of maintainance, but that's the thing, why build a new trail if other trails that already exist need work?

I could go into the shed and build some crazy ass WELL-BUILT stuff and all i would be doing is hurting the efforts of people that have been busting their asses to make the shed a great place to ride. Think about all the PR the NSMBA has had to deal with and now this, just so something could get into a video.

You know if this stuff was built on an existing trail that wasn't so close to the houses this probably wouldn't be an issue right now

This thing kinda bothers me though cause he's on the news saying "but whatabout the other trails on the NS" when he knows what he did was unfortunatly wrong. Also, just cause he's Dangerous Dan doesn't mean he can do whatever he wants.

The shitty thing about this is that the district has known about this trail for a long time and knew about it when it was getting built, it would've been better if they would have let em know before hand

aShogunNamedMarcus
10-23-2004, 10:58 AM
I'm not sure why he's pointing the finger at other trails in this instance. He should be pretty well informed of the full situation on the shore (moratorium on building/ban/senstivity of it all) so in general it is detrimental. Specially considering the issues facing mtn biking on the NS. At the same time, I dont know the full story and if he was allowed to build it by the DNV, then I can understand his side.

After 20 minutes on the 24 bicycles website, and seeing the seat tube of the le toy is 14.5 inches (pretty perfect for me I think)..

I think I'm in love with le toy now..

Anyone know if the le toy 4 geometry has changed since the le toy 3?

HELP ME PICK A HT.

I DONT KNOW WHAT.

MORPHINE, OR LE TOY III.

I keep getting scared that the le toy III is going to be too small, because of the 13" seat tube in the '02 and '03 geo's.

I found that I didn't feel very in control of my minuteman in the air, and I attributed it to the small seat tube.

The morphine's only a 14" so not much bigger.. but It might make a diff.

I can probably get a '02 letoy III with headset/seatpost/cranks and pedals (profiles) tomorrow for 600.

Whatdya think boys? HELP ME!

Here we go, one last time:

My evil has a 12" seat tube and feels fine in the air. Its most likely psychological about that aspect regarding the seat tube. The issue you should be worrying about is the top tube length and if or when you want to climb will the frame be to cramped? You can get a telescoping seatpost to cure the short seat tube issue - if you dont want to spend the money on one thats your issue. The geometry of the le toy wont change with a different size - at least to my knowledge. And even it it does, a degree here or there wont kill you - hack like riding will ;)

You can climb, jump, drop, huck and race either of those frames.

You can build either of them equally burly and both will survive.

One last thing - have you actually test rode either one of them yet? If not, quit post whoring on here, get off your ass and test them both. We dont know how either of these bikes will fit you.

Only you can tell.

QUESTION?

Mike, Paul, and anyone else who may be concerned.... Should I start working on the big line for stairway or should I go and work on something else?(This is after i finish the detail work on the easy line)

What I have in mind is a long roll down off the end of the first log, a ramp up to a drop into the first tranny, then into a step up to ladder ( like the begining of air supply ) that drops onto the second tranny.

Or something else if anyone has better ideas.

If you guys want to do it yourselves there are plenty of other things for me to do so if you don't want me screwing around with your trail no problem.

whatever.

Al: Ummmm, I think we should finalize the lay-out of the hard line with the goats first.. You're ideas are good, I don't know if there's enough room for two drops though, i thought just the roll down off the first log to a step up to a drop/step down/skinny drop, but we'll see.

EVERYONE: THIS MESSAGE IS FROM THE 2003 LETOY III OWNER WHO WAS ONE OF MY POTENTIAL LETOY III SELLERS. HE IS LIVING IN CALI, AND USED TO LIVE IN CANADA (ALBERTA). HE GAVE ME THIS MESSAGE AFTER I SENT HIM AN E-MAIL ASKING FOR CONFIRMATION ON WHETHER OR NOT MY BID ON THE FRAME WAS THE WINNING ONE. HE REPLIES THE FOLLOWING AND I QUOTE:

"Very sorry to have taken so long to reply to you. I'll
gladly accept your offer of 500 USD for my frame. In
fact, I'll toss in my Pig headset and an X-Drive BMX
bottom bracket as well (plus a set of spare bearings).
I'm crazy like that! I will ask you to do me a favor
though, and this is in all seriousness. By now you've
probably seen the outcome of the Presidential election
here in the states. I would like to see, in all
seriousness, if you know anyone or could help me find
someone who needs a roommate somewhere in Canada,
preferably somewhere in B.C. or Alberta where
machinist jobs are available. Now obviously I won't be
able to pick up and move overnight, but I need to get
the ball rolling somehow. If there are any agencies
that specialize in finding jobs or rental locations,
any thing like that, any friends you know, anything, I
would be most gracious. Any information or help you
can give me on getting out of here would help me out.
I figure I've got to start somewhere, so why not start
now".

WTF SHOULD I DO?

The other buyer is in burnaby, and it's an '02 le toyIII with same geo, and worse decal conditions, BUT, comes with profile cranks/bb, the headset, and maybe even the pedals for a little over 600 cdn, and I could pick it up tomorrow.

Errrrrr..... Get the frame I want tomorrow and be done with it OR Help this guy out, get the frame later than wanted and probably get not quite the same value (no cranks)......

Whatdya think?

OK, I'll bite.

What happened to the thread concerning ripping out the Shed again? was it all just some sick joke, or what?
It was regarding some 10 second news short referring to Delta council deciding to axe the shed again.

What's up?

This is an excerp from an email from Brett at the Shed bike club

" I was at the meeting last night with Delta Parks and Rec as well as City TV. The area that the Parks and Rec are tearing down is a tiny ladder bridge set up in boudary bay. The SHED IS SAFE !!!!!!!!! I was asked to come to the meeting to speak to the riders about how to go about getting proper legitimacy to their trails. In closing, our Shed Trail is 100% safe, in fact I know have a copy of our signed Memorandum of Understanding ( signed by mayor Jackson), Look forward to seeing everyone at our next trail day on Sunday November 21st @11:00am @ Pinewood Elementary. Thanks, Brett Armstrong"

If you go right ( west ) from lower simons log down the rim of the ravine you will see a spot where a steep dirt roll down goes to the left into the ravine. At the top you will see a few pieces of cedar i salvaged from the wreckage of BM, Pile rock there.:)

Anyone plan to do some work on Sunday? I'll probably go in, do some rock collecting if I can. Anyone know where there's a good stash of them - I'll just bring a wheelbarrow into the shed instead of my bike.

And could anyone see a downfall to maybe importing some rocks if we need to?

I was in there this morning getting a few rock together ... on the trails to the west and below my pile o' supplies you will see a couple piles of rocks i started to gather up. If you're going to have a w'barrow you could wheel em up to the top of the roll down. If your REALLY feeling energetic there is a whole bunch of big rocks at the bottom near the end of the old BM. You could also start stealing the rocks from the top of BM seeing as how we won't be rebuilding that line anyway.

So you want the big rocks from the last transition to the upper part where lower simons comes out? I'll see what I can do about that.

What time you riding Al? We could have a work n ride day in there.

Well, I now ride a 2003 LeToy III hard tail...

I have to get it fined tuned on Saturday, but I think it's going to be good..

I reallyreally really wanna sell my '01 super T and get a single crown fork on their.

Any suggestions as to what fork to put on? I don't wanna go more than 6, and I'd prefer to stay at 5 or under (inches)...

today was really depressing

I was taking apart the tranny at the bottom of BM and i forgot how much work went into that (Remember keefer and cam?) Man were there a lot of big rocks layed in there perfectly:(

Oh well, now there a large supply of big boulders waiting at the bottom of BM if anyone gets a chance to pull a few up.

Also Al, i was wondering what was going on with the soul pole, cause i found lots more cedar that's sitting there right now, but i was wondering what you and the boys had talked about?

I was kinda goping to leave it up to you to decide how it should be done... I just had an idea for a ramp down off the end but a few feet back putting in a kicker so you could gap into the down ramp... :???: if that makes sense

if you mean me :)

It's a possibility. But this bike is going to be slightly more street/urban/park/dj than it is trails, so I think 6" might be over kill..

6" in the woodyard would be silly, wouldn't it!?

Tool
11-06-2004, 08:23 PM
hey paul i think you can tune them down

And Al, i like the idea of a little kicker, i have actually already put down a log where i want the tranny to go

As for any easy down ramp, i think that should go down at the half way point of the log ride cause i want to keep in the bouncy ness, you could either build speed and gap to the tranny of jump off slow and land before the tranny with room to spare of roll down early

urban info is as follows:

basically meet at velocity cycles in WG @ 8. The plan is something like jib around there for a bit, head down to the mini skatepark behind Chapters and timmay's. Then probably over to Murrayville skatepark for a bit. Its not my plan either but hey, its a plan to ride.

People can pm me their cellular device numbers and let me know if they'd like a call before we head out to the skatepark if they dont want to drive then ride then drive then ride and repeat.

Your stem will be fine actually - its your steer tube that can sheer off much easier than a cnc block of alumunium. Ride it. I have another stem you can have *if the stem* breaks ;)
