i was encouraging you to come!!! :P

I really wanna buy a banshee morphine now...

I think a medium, but that might be big?

My 13 or 13.5 inch minuteman is just too small, and I'm starting to dislike the dual 24's...

What u guys think? Morphines are wicked frames, no doubt, but what size?? (I'm 6'0)

PM grasshopa he's got a medium with older supers and a 24-26 wheel set. If you asked nicely he'd probably let you take it for a spin and see how it fits. I know his bike fits me and I'm 5'10.

I found a minty- red medium for 500, with 9 years of warranty left :)

This is somewhat for the future, as I don't know if I'd keep all my parts... or if my dad would LITERALLY murder me for buying more bike parts..

(he thinks i'm selling my minuteman for a cool 1500-1700 still)...

Yeah, I just made a huge post about stuff some gnarly stuff starting at lowerbender and continuing down.

I chose to delete it because it's really gnarly, and it might be kept quiet for a reason :)

But I'd love to hit some of it (or try to!) with any of you guys one day..

I think this thread is pretty secure though.

that would be cool but it looks like it changed from saturday to sunday so everyone can come. if you can come on saturday that would be awesome. it would be nice to have someone who knows where all the trails are. I know goats, drop trail, simons(i think. its the one at the top near the school by the goats gaps). mr twister and the one beside it.

Another change of plans on my side <sorry>. I'm now in Whistler on the Sunday.

I was also in the shed tonight. I almost cleaned Simons the first 2 times then it kicked my ass off of the first offshoot .. I'm not sure what it was about the new goat jumps but they almost feel to close together. To me at least. But I havent ridden in a while so maybe I'm just lacking flow.

And I am absolutely in love with my 888's

What do you mean too close? Like the distance in between? cause it's alot further than a regular dj set. You should head out to Loutette if you want to see too close:P

shit, me and Al were in the shed today witnessing some carnage, i have never seen so many sketchy people jump at once. 4 people bailed on the jumps in a couple of minutes. One person hit a tree and another kinda tumbled into the stump at the end. Plus you got kids and other riders walking/riding their bikes back up the trail when people are trying to come down. We need to make it a one way trail. If you wanna session it then go around especially when it's super busy in there like today.

isnt there some sort of sign we could put up. something to let kids and their parents know that there are jumps ahead that they shouldnt mess around or the could get hurt.

i really hope nothing happens to the point of the city saying no more. take it all out thats it.

Well i think after people have hit the jumps a few times and getting more practice and comfortable should make things better. It's more the dumbfoundedness of some people that like i said, walk/ride up the trails or just stand in the way that are gonna be a problem, especially on busy days. It's gonna spook the less experienced riders as they come down and that's when someone could get hurt.

Everybody on here, could you please let people know, lets make it so that that becomes a one way trail and to go back up you take the trail that comes up at simon says. And just if you see people doing something that's not good (in the way, skidding, etc) please let em know but nicely, thanks

i just talked to someone who walks through there and she said she seen kids riding the jumps backwards and others playing on them with no bikes in sight. i seen some really close near misses on the creek jumps and i have a feeling we will see some on the goats. i just wish everyone took the time to learn etiquette on the trails.

Alright guys, I have decided to come and see what the Shed is all about. A few things first, I am going to be bringing Mrs. Ripper, and although she definatly rips, she still has trouble with the steeps. I am just wondering how "technical" the trails are in the Shed. Also since I have never been to the Shed, let alone even Delta, I am going to need some directions to the shed and trails, but you can PM me those ;) . Thanks to all the dudes who have spent countless hours giving the Shed new life! :thepimp:

Just came back from a nice little rip in the shed. one thing i noticed was that in between the two jumps is an exposed root that caused two kids that were hitting the jumps to wipe out hard. one of the kids said that they were there yesterday and one kid hurt himself and may have broken his arm landing on the root and sliding out. i dont know if its cool to go remove it myself but i thought id give a heads up to others.

other than that the shed is in great shape. nice and tacky but not muddy and the new stuff looks great.

there are very few trails that would be considered steep by shore standards. plus, there's not much distance that can be covered, so straight down the fall line is generally avoided.

not to say that things aren't fun. on the contrary, you can rip and rip and rip all day if you want to just wind your way through everything. you'd be surprised how many trails you can cram into a 1 square mile park.

Honestly it would be better if you gave us shed heads another month or so to get a little more of the old shed re-built... but there is still a few fun things to hit and a whole lot of fun singletrack right now so if you come out with mrs ripper you will still be in for some fun ( but easy by shore standards ) riding. Giving directions is tuff cuz the whole park is criss crossed by loads of singletrack... it's just too many branches for easy discriptions... the best advice I can give is if you see someone on a burly bike ask them to show you around.

yeah somthing has to be done about that root. Right now i think i think i'm gonna try and cover it up either monday or tuesday but if that won't work than we might just have to cut it out for safety sake.

I don't know how people hit it though, you got to really veer off to the right when you land, it's funny cause i always veer more off to the left. I've never even noticed the root when i ride it, but if people are geting hurt than somthing should be done

just came back from a good rip. Dave (oysterboyz) and Scott (NSMBRider). Scott is a total ripper. Cleaning stunts like they were nothing. Great to watch him ride.

Had some fun practising the new jumps. Really fun to rip on. The only problem is there were an assload of kids on bmx's, mtb's, and even a scooter. the third jump (the little gapper), the dirt is wearing away and the rocks are coming out and need to be filled in again. Is that something i can go in and do or would i get in trouble?? other than that everything was great and had and awesome ride. also ran into bruiser and al. brusier was hurting from a wipeout.

also dave was getting some nice air of the jumps.

yeah i'll be there around 3ish

I was working on the jumps today, covered up the root, it's still there just more of a bump in the trail now, nothing to hook onto.

I also added more dirt to the first tranny, that helps to blend out that bump too and it makes the tranny smoother cause now it's about a bikes length.

Also i fixed the double, now i don't know how well that dirt will pack cause it's pretty dry so if anybody goes to hit it be carefull or just hit the part on the left with the rock.

And i saw a guy today hit the last jump and land on the stump, it was sweet, i'm gonna try it tommorrow

I can't wait, this will be my first time in there since all the new stuff:D

I rode 5km in 10 minutes at sungod today, on level 15 and Random!

It burned cause I'm out of shape..

I had to lower the seat all the way cause it was Lance Armstrong high... and two ladies told me it was too low, so I told 'em to fuck right off...

OK, w3rd on the mean streets of delta, I'm guessing it was a local resident ralph wiggum and I spoke to at the shed today...He told us that I believe it was yesterday(Wednesday) he saw two 'homeless people' with shopping carts full of grabage and bags walking around the shed. He said this is no good, they scared his dog (:dog:) He later said that he spoke with teh city of Delta and they said they have to see these people before they can do anything. So he asked us to call the city if we see any of these people putting up tents in the park...

Just a heads up, useful or not.

That's why it's a good thing to have mtn bikers in the watershed. I've heard from a few residents that walk around in there frequently that they feel safer having us in there. Hopefully by having us in there it will keep em away

not really any other built up trails at the moment..

take right entrance at pinewood.

take your first right at the next fork in the road.

take your first left off the gravel path.

watch for a stump on your left (about 3 feet high) and then turn left directly behind it..

hey guys, i'm probably not going to make it on saturday:(

The kids team that i coach are in the thanksgiving tourney and we've got 2 games on sat. Hopefully i can make it after for a bit.

I was in there today, the last "roll-over" is now a jump with that ladder as the table. It still needs more dirt at the bottom of the tranny to make it longer for all the studs (daver;) :rocker: that hit it fast.

It looks good though, also it might be nice to fill in more rungs cause they are pretty spaced out.

And Al, i got a couple of things (hammer and nails) that i ganked from the goats tool crib and put them in the pack so let em know on sat

Looks good... I like it:thepimp: Now we gotta fix up the back side of the stump as a tranny;)

Tool
10-07-2004, 01:38 PM
it just needs more dirt at the bottom of it and maybe one more big rock just on the outside, but other than that i might be better to keep it on the DL;) and not make it too noticable. Right now it's kind of a keep your eyes open, creative thing. Something that not everyone would look at and be able to visualize.

Plus i like the sketchyness of having a tight spot to land in, it makes you have to learn to be more smooth:thepimp:

We just need to fix up that lip, that alone should make the transfer to the stump easier and fix up the jump itself so you don't shoot out so far, a little more up like the other ones. That's always been a great trick jump, now with a proper tranny it should help it out

Al: Me and Brett were thinking of having three regular teeters, but of varying sizes...

I.e. make the first one fairly small, the second one bigger, and the third one biggest. Or the first one small the second one big, and the last one medium.

Something like that. What do ya think?

I wear a glove, with good wrist support... I already have a gangleon (liquid build up) from the ol' rub 'n tug.

becasue for some bigger stuff and lots of stuff like making rungs hammering a wedge through insted of trying to chop rungs can be alot easier.

a bunch of well built irrigation on goats.

and then all the cleanup and sorting of what used to be stairway, after retrieving it from the bushes.

then we completed about half of the easy/beginner line on stairway, and have it mapped out pretty good..

We've got a pretty damn good idea for the hard line too :)

Yeah, where do you guys live?

Cause it'd be nice if we could meet somewhere else first?

Do your parents have to give you rides? I could only take two bikes without a bike rack, and 4 with a bike rack, which I could do..

did you guys end up getting any gravel from the city? And did anybody build up the drainage after the last goats jump?

RITALIN
10-09-2004, 08:54 PM
we all live in fleetwood we could meet at the bikezone or at my house if u have a hitch mount cuz my rack will fit 3 bikes... yeah the bikezone would be easy and like only if its no training or else invergary will succkkkkk.... yeah drainage after the stump was made very well and no gravel tho...the stairway will be nice
