Whistler was good fun. My ankles and wrists are so megafucked though. Bruiser even had the GALL to complain about his hands! :flame:

I learned many things. Ron keeps nearly an entire 6-pack of coca cola stashed around his car (2 in the glovebox, one in drink holder, two in cd holder), and averages about 110 on the sea to sky. Skissors was owned by beer. Jay got buzzed off one pint. The service at the place we ate lunch at sucked, Ron got a free meal, and the rest of us screwed the waitor on the tip. Someone puked yellow on Bruiser's head.

And I may or may not have seen bruiser d involved in illicit activies in the parking lot afterwards :|.

No. We took two out of the glovebox and put two in, then had two.

I biked to the lake, then jumped in. lancepaydirt lacked the self dicipline to get back out after he got in, so he stayed on the beaaatch.

no, we drank 2 out of the glove box, put the one in the armrest in the glove box, and put the one in the cup holder in the glove box.

I do not believe that's all that happened at the lake.

You read my mind. I'd love to ride tomorrow, but I still don't know if I work tonight or not (Safeway is still in negotiations). If there's no strike, I work 11-6, thus sleeping until like 4 the next day. Otherwise, I'm off and would love to ride. I'll keep you updated as often as they keep me updated .

went to whistler with Liam today, did mostly dirt merchant, what a fun trail.

we must've hit a field of evil while we were going down bikerx, liam got a pinch flat, he went to get some patch, i waited for him outside the store, then when he was done, i hop back on the bike and discover i also have a flat, it somehow went flat from just sitting there, it was fine when i went down biker x.

that ended our day, liam couldnt take his tire off, and i turned out to have 2 holes in my tube, completely different places, both of them are at the bottom(where it contact the rim tape)

the flying moose
08-13-2003, 11:44 PM
thats rough luck ron. how many runs did you guys actually get in?

ronald55555
08-13-2003, 11:58 PM
we got in about 6 or 7 runs.

had a close call, almost T-boned Liam on bikex, i was following him down, then at the last set of whoops, we were kinda side by side, then it splits into 2 lanes, each has their own berms, turns right, then left, i went into the right lane, liam went into the left lane, half way into the right turn, i realize there was no way i could make the turn, since i wasnt even on the berm, liam was a bit back, in the right lane, so i popped over my berm and landed over at the left lane in front of liam.
that made no sense, but it gave me a lil typing practice.

  that would have been funny to see.

ronald55555

soemtimes i pop over that berm on purpose, but that time, when i entered the turn, i forgot liam was beside me, so i was way to the right and couldnt get back on the berm in time to make the turn.
liam shouldve wore a helmet cam

Hmm, I sure hope it's not those 10 year olds who built that turtle stunt. Cuz we took care of that shit. 8)

In other news, I have had 2 broken arms for about a week now. My left arm is in a sling with a fractured elbow and my right arm is in a cast with a broken wrist and a fractured thumb. In about 2 more weeks i'll be good to go. I over shot the first big gap jump on Air Supply and a went over the handle bars in the air. Then I rode down the mountain to Chevron and called myself a cab.

How's the Stairway jump feel Mike? Do you easily clear if you keep your speed off the drop?

I've been looking at it a little bit lately (although my bike hasn't been working real well lately), and haven't yet done it.

Gaps always freak me out never think I'll have enough speed. You have to let the Drop near perfectly though I would think. Soon!!!

Has anyone tried the Stairway gap jump yet? So far Adam and myself have done it from what I know.

I rode the bike down. Why should i walk when I have the bike. Plus once I got up I thought I only had a dislocated elbow.

Anyways too bad about the shed. Fall and Winter are just around the corner and it'll be time to start improving and adding-on to our existings tail network in the shed. We just need more builders. :D

u didnt scream at me u liar.
sorry dude, i entered that berm completely wrong, i forgot u were beside me, if i didnt do it, i wouldve crashed into the back of your next berm and completely plow right through it, and your front wheel would catch on the pile of mud, making u endo over and flying straight to the landing of the wall ride, then some guy doing the wall ride will land right on you, you will die instantly, the other guy will be sent flying down the mountain, and crashing into the ppl waiting in line for the lift, seriously injuring lots of ppl.
so, i actually saved tons of ppl from serious or even fatal injuries.

so when are u leaving?

hella b-zaR crazy shit mike..... heal up fast...

it sucks having to ride out of places with injuries!! i rode out of the shed with a couple crumpled vertabrae in my spine, and then I also rode whistler with it... :)

I just got back from peurto vallarta mexico which was nice.. but i prefer the european chicks at cancun (more toplessness and thongness)...

I can't wait to get back on my sweet bike and get in shape urban or shed...

Sure am glad to hear how tons of peeps are starting to love hard tail's, cause they're ubar d0pe!!

I'm sure with a hard tail had we overshot the air supply gap like mike we just wouldn't have been able to hold on and would've lost footing and sort of slid off... But with a duallie you tend to get bucked huge which is more dangerous imo...

Once I get these damn casts off my arms and the shed opens up again, i'll get out there and build an even harder stunt on the log after the high skinny. I'll build a skinny where the teeters used to be. I was told that the teeters were ripped out because they were too difficult to ride.

ohhhhh.. alright then...

I was unaware of that.. i havent been in the shed for about ... well at least a month.

I always thought that that particular 'cross log' would be anohter good line onto the teeter from the main trail or a different trail head.

But isnt anything sacred - and if they're going to rebuild on a trail they should at least do it right and or talk to you.

And yes Bruza, i think after a few more rainfalls we might have to have a 'the shed is open again ride '. I might even have the trusty hardtail up and runnin by then :D

yeh. a shed ride would be cool... it should open fairly soon

We ran the first part of Leigh Hargrove's article, Michelle Dumaresq: An interview with the National Freakin’ DH Champion! about a week ago and it caused quite a stir. In fact, the thread it generated on the boards is the second most viewed after the all-powerful Sacred Shed Thread II.

i feel proud *tear*... man i want to ride anything other than curbs again... (although my hop to manuals are pretty good now)..:D

I was told that the city of Delta is in charge, the GVRD is in charge of the swamp at the bottom where the salmon habitat is, so i guess it's Delta's call.

My question is: is the forest fire danger any worse then it was a month before the watershed was closed? I'm no expert, but it seems kinda fishy:rolleyes:

i called the park board on friday and was severely jerked around. at first i told them i was wondering when the park would re-open to hikers and they said that they felt it should be sometime this week. then i mentioned biking and then they became almost agitated. i was transfered to three different people all of them were trying to giving me the run around. when i told them that the first lady had told me this week sometime they got all mad and told me she was wrong and that they really had no idea when it would re-open. i was left with the feeling that bikers werent wanted there and they might not re-open for bikers at all.

The whole "bikers won't be allowed" is BS so don't worry. But it should be re-opened soon. And yeah i've thought about what if the stunts are all torn down, but that's just a bit of paranoia setting on from not being able to ride for so long.

Long live the SHED:D

I've spoken to someone who's poached the trails quite regularily during the closure and that person did not mention anything about any trails being torn down or damaged. So I wouldn't worry about it. And for the record I in no way Participate in or Support Trail poaching.

Oh yeah, and i've started fixing up Simon Says and i ripped down some of that shit those punk kids were starting to build. I cannot believe that they took out the fukin teeter, they also took out that big piece of cedar on the downramp landing for their shitty extention, it looks like they nailed on toothpicks:rolleyes: The rails are the size of their pinner lil punk kid arms:mad:

Oh well, i started re-skinning the first log, i think i have an idea on how i'm gonna fix it. It is ridable right not, but just be careful where the kids took out the teeter cause they just stuffed some wood in the gap:rolleyes:

The Drop Trail needs some fixing, Brett was talking about having a trail in the near future:)

Bitch Slapper is in great shape, i couldn't believe that i cleaned it first time back.

6 seconds was in great shape

The Goats trail is in good shape, same with the DJ's above
them:D

Everything is just slick cause of the lack of riders and the bit of rain, also there's alot of fallen branches and pine needles.
