Nice!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously love to try the M4 and the Sig too. But I have a soft spot for H&K products, as I really love the MP5, the UMP, the USP pistol, and the G3C. I just may give in and try to get a couple of those H&K items as Airsoft replica's one day.

Guns rule. I'm not too much into the guns designed to kill people, but they are still fun to shoot. If given the choice, I'd take a compound bow. I love being a redneck....

But I wasn't shooting at people, I was shooting pieces of paper... on a closed range. As in.. one that a person doesn't walk onto. Good god, bugger off - this has nothing to do with shooting people

lol, they give me the creeps too. Only problem is that back in the day me and my dad used to carry a bear killer (big ass shotgun, no idea of gauge or w/e, I was pretty young) with us in the woods (never had to use it on an animal luckily, and never wanted to), but we used to shoot targets just so we knew if we did need to use it we'd be able to. So much fun. Conclusion - I am creepy too, I guess.

The peaceful, neutral Swiss love their guns. They are all issued guns in the required military training and they have very few gun related injuries, and only one gun death from military issue.
Makes for interesting window shopping too.

My dad is an avid hunter, (uses a bow now cuz guns are too easy), and I've fired off lots of shots at cans and stuff out in the woods. That's one thing.
I don't think anyone really needs to own their very own assault rifle. But that's just me.

with that M4, as with the rest of the colt designs (C7/C8/M16 etc), with your hand on the pistol grip, the butt should be the length of your forearm, and rest snug on your bicep with your arm bent at 90 degrees, a good place to start, from there you can adjust in and out in small amounts to find the spot

nice, I agree that guns are fun when shooting things other than humans. The thought of shooting someone or something in cold blood makes me sick.
I spend probably 80% of my time in the bush or is bush camps, so having a gun makes sense to me - once you've had close calls with bears you don't want to fuck around. I'd shoot a bear if my life came down to it, but never for fun or sport.
Anyways the other day was my first time shooting a defender(12g. shotgun with a pistol stock insead of a shoulderstock). I would say, if I'm ever getting a gun for protection from bears or cougars, I'm picking upone of those fuckin things. pretty fucking sweet. Got pretty pissed up and demo'd a co-workers lawn chair with buckshot and finished it off with a half dozen slugs hahaha. thats what I call good fun.
For those of you who say drinking and guns don't mix I agree, altough I was working in a heli-camp over 40km from the nearest road, over 100km from the nearest town. Wasn't too worried about someone hiking through the bush and getting shot by accident.

I'm going to bow down on this one, just because it's pretty tough to argue shooting techniques with our country's finest.
I still must say, every bit of research I could find points to the basic technique I was taught some 28 years ago and have used ever since; having the right elbow (or left in my case as I shoot left) level with the shoulder.
Is there something that I and everything I could find on the internet missed?

The argument is that cars aren't made for the specific purpose of killing things.
I mean, if you're going by that logic, everyone should have nuclear weapons, too, because it's not the weapon's fault that everyone doesn't restrict their nuclear weapon shooting to french islands in the south pacific.

haha dont ask me, thats just the way we have been taught, all wepons classes i have attended have been taught by well decorated infantry NCO's, so i trust they know what they are doing... remember this is the technique we have been taught for C7s as well, wether or not this is the best way to fire a hunting rifle i dont know, we are however allowed some leeway as well, as long as you are comfortable, you will shoot better.

2 different reasons for shooting, 2 different ways to hold a rifle
I was originally taught to keep the elbow up to create a better brace laterally then when I started playing airsoft and paintball I was then taught the elbow down for the main reason of presenting a smaller target when taking fire. the stability lost laterally is minimal and the time left alive(not hit with pellet or paintball) is greatly increased assuming you know how to blend. same goes for reality to some degree.
