I respect the guy and what he does, go ahead and let him do what he enjoys.

The subtitles however were lame, because obviously we have trouble comprehending english vocabulary so we need it translated in english subtitles. Thanks

If the weather here didn't suck and I didn't have a job I would be on my bike *hint hint*

the kids that "hate" on others within in mountain biking are the same kids that get beat up at school for being losers, and now with the help up of the internet they are able to feel tough and knock anybody that is doing something out of the norm.

on a side note*
the only reason somebody would knock this style of riding is because of jealousy.it takes serious skill to ride the way these guys do especially in the enviroment they live in. from the looks of it, it would be like riding down a trail and weaving between hikers then hitting a stunt and then continue weaving through hikers during your runout and this entire time your bike has no brakes. not to mention traffic.
doesn't sound like the most fun to me but these guys deserve some serious respect.

Oh right maybe you should learn how to steer on your bike before you can ride brakeless, my bad. Avoiding things is not very diffcult... and then you can still tire jam.

Dont critize if you have never tried it. It is honestly not hard at all to ride like that, you just dont know what your talking about.

And brakeless is unsafe. Period.

SEKTER13

In my experience a foot works better then most BMX brakes anyways. If you know how to ride breakless then youl be fine, just ride park first then hit the street. And most people ride brakeless because its simple, less parts to break, no lines to get tangled in anything, ect. Are skateboards really dangerous all of a sudden because they dont have brakes? The guy is riding street, hes not going to be going 40kmh like a DH guy.

As for the video, props to him for addressing the haters. A lot of hate in MTB these days, its nice to see someone confront it. He kills it.

I dont think you quite got the meaning of my post mate. BMX is BMX, great for what it is, but there are a lot of people converting nowadays because they feel they are limited by a MTB. Simply put, I respect ongoing MTB street riders for what they bring to MTB, it IS becoming a trend in MTB'ers to convert to BMX...im just glad we have him on the MTB side; because they really are two different sports. we need as many as we can get to progress both mountain biking in general, and street.

Im amazed at the stupidity.

Maybe the reason you've never run into anyone is because everyone see's how dumb you are riding with no brakes and avoids you. I know I would.

PS- I rode brakeless for about 2 months when i was at school. Fun as hell, I never got hurt, but i KNOW its more dangerous. Just cuz you havent gotten hurt doesnt mean its not dangerous. Its only a matter of time.

And you telling us to learn how to steer is just retarded. You know, there COULD be a situation where, no matter where you turn you'll run into something and the only option is to stop or slow down to avoid another rider.

Good lord, I cant believe im actualy arguing about this. ITS COMMON SENSE

Well, mate, them maybe you should tell him to ride an actual mtb, not a cruiser. That bike is closer to a bmx than a mountain bike.

:damn: MY stupidity!!!! Wow its not like I CANNOT brake AT ALL. There is such a thing as foot jamming which in my expierience works juuuusssst slightly worse than regular brake. If you just stay aware of your surroundings play it safe avoid everything you dont have a chance of running into anything, its just like riding a fourcross course sure its dangerous as fuck but you are skilled enough to handle the race.... Clap Clap about your three months of brakeless accomplishment I have been riding brakeless at parks for three years, I am a courteous rider, and make room for other peoples lines. Please if you have such a disagreement with someone you have NEVER met riding and make all these crazy assumptions about how unsafe his style because he does not have brake (doesn't mean he can't slow down or avoid other riders) you are just retarded.....

I am not trying to say it is any safer than brakes for sure, but it is not NEARLY as dangerous as you make it out to be, infact I bet there is FAR (by like a massive amount) fewer people get injured riding brakeless at park than say guini pigging a new DJ line or a roadgap. The fact is BICYCLING IS A DANGEROUS SPORT, get the fuck over it.

 wow, nice logic. Trying a new line is an accepted risk that has potential consiquences that are UNAVOIDABLE. You dont like the risk, dont ride a bike. Riding brakeless, offers dangers that are EASILY avoidable to you (and here is why im arguing this so much) AND OTHERS. And foot jamming? hahah!! dont make me laugh. Even if you were able to get your foot in the fork fast enough for a panic stop (highly doubtful) you'd probably endo.

Let me ask you this:

What kind of an advantage do you honestly think you are getting by riding brakeless?

Bike looks cooler?
Lighter? (pretty much negligable)
Less maintinence? (pretty much negligable as well)

If you can convince me that the advantages of riding brakeless are so great that its worth puting you and others at risk, i will STFU.

saying somone cant ride 24" wheels with pegs is like saying, somone cant lower and put exhaust on a truck. Let the guy ride, he seems like a pretty chill guy to ride with and got some good street style, get over it.

who cares if he rides brakeless, maybe he cant afford it  but otherwise, it lets him do his grinds and he doesnt have to worry about cables or levers.
there is no REAL advantage, who cares. Why do i only run a back mechanical brake? because its all i need, maybe its all he needs as well.

You dont seem to understand that I can ride just as I easily and as well with or without a brake. There is NO IMPACT WHAT SO EVER on my ability to avoid other people and obstacles!

You seem so threatened by the fact that you know someone somewhere is riding in some park with NO BRAKE, and posing a SIGNIFICANT risk to himself and others, its is simply NOT TRUE, and if you dont believe please come to vancouver and watch me ride.

And by foot jamming I meant in the rear triangle, it takes at most maybe 1/4 second longer to brake.

The advantages? More confidence going into quarters (personal taste). Faster, (brake rub from bent discs ect...), simpler setup, less to work on, and you just end up ripping around the park faster and with more flow. And there is DEFINATLY less maintenace, even with loc-tite screws, they need constantly need to be tightened, lever adjusted (especially with HFX-9), brake pads replaced... Comes down to a better feel to the bike and less hassle, makes for a reltively maintenace free ride, just oil the chain/.

All I said was that riding brakeless in parks is fun and I get a dissertation on how UNSAFE I am being and how I am putting other people lives and mountain bikings reputation in jeopardy.

All COMPLETELY unknown to me because I have been riding for a very long time brakeless on and off and have not had a SINGLE incident where my brakelessness has caused me to crash...

I have however have been injured many times by relying on brakes and having them fail???

And seriously get a fuckin life if you actually feel threatened by me when I am riding tell me and I will take it seriously but I dont need to be told by some texan that I am endangering myself over the internet....

Riding brakeless trains you to be alot smoother on the dirtjumps and in parks, and gives you alot more confidence so you can hit things faster when you do have brakes on. I don't ride brakeless, but I have on both my MTB and BMX. I ride around people who are brakeless very frequently. I never feel in danger andnobody has ever gotten injured as a result of it. Saying that, I don't think it is a very smart idea to ride brakeless street in a high traffic area such as downtown vancouver, but it sure is fun in parks and dirtjumps.
