Me and a buddy of mine are heading up to the Whistler Bike Park this month and I would like your opinions of where the best place to rent big bikes is?

We are both BMXers but that doesn't mean we want hardtails or anything. We want some big squishy bikes so we can charge some stuff without getting killed. (Hopefully.)

We also have a bike rack so renting at Cove or something and driving them up could work.

Not looking for a bargain, just looking for the place with the best gear / mechanics so we don't have a wheel come off in the air or something.

Evolution will rent you a very nice Demo 9.
Summit rents RMX 1.0's that are also very sweet.

Both go for approximately $100 per day.

FanatykCo (http://www.fanatykco.com/default.cfm/nid/136/navid/136/catid/0) has Norco Alines and Shores. 100/day about. You can rent a Foes Fly too, if you want to cough up 200!

If Evolution is out, FanatykCo has more stock. Plus, the bikes get tuned and wrenched after every ride, so while some of the bikes in the village are absolutely hammered by this time of the year, FanatykCo's are still going strong.

Thanks guys.

We are going to go with RMX's. They seem a bit less slack angles than the Demo 9.

My buddies rented from Fanatyk last weekend. The bikes are in great shape and the service was friendly. It's worth noting that they put a full SAINT groupo on their A-Lines and Shores. Pretty sweet.

Sorry to drag this back up but we ended up renting from Summit. They hooked us up with two Rocky RMX 1.0s and even though it is the end of the season the bikes still felt super solid.

The location is super good, Summit is right at the base of the Gondola so you can pick up your bikes, buy a pass and be on the chair in minutes. Pickup was easy. I booked online and they had our bikes tagged and waiting for us, just signed a couple of things and fired through a credit card and we were on our way.

Later in the day my back brake started pumping out (our BMXs don't have front brakes so we didn't use them much), I pulled my bike back into the shop and the mechanic bled my brake and got me back up and running in around 10 minutes. They offered to give me another bike but we just sat down and had a drink instead.

Anyway we had a great time. We rode Dirt Merchant mostly with a bit of A-Line thrown in and a couple runs through the bikercross course. I'd go again for sure. Took a little bit to get used to the suspension but once we did it was a blast. A few more hips thrown in would be nice but all the runs were really fun.

Thanks for skidding all over the mountain, the trails crew loves to smooth out your braking bumps, 70 percent of slowing down comes from the front brake, way more control too.....
