View Full Version : Magura fr on fox 40 rotor size?

got a fox 40 today ( yes off andrew Jake) tryed to put my maguras on .. no go... the 210mm rotor was to big ... i also have a 180 rotor that is to small ... going to try and find a 190mm magura rotor ... anyone have this setup and what did you use ... also the post mounts on the 40 seem a bit off anyone got a good way to face them straight ? ... and i don't think there is an adapter that could work 210mm is off buy maybe 10mm to 20mm

haha same thing happened to me. to run the big rotor you need a different caliper or so ive figured. i just bolted my caliper right to the fork and ended up using a hayes 203mm rotor. seems to work fine. obviously you'll have to recenter it all again.

umm and me.. Louise Frs have 2 different calipers. one fits boxxer and something else. The one for the 40 is different, you need to have the caliper with the longer leg on the top, and the proper adapter to run the 210mm rotor. I'm pretty sure this is the only one that works properly with the 40. This is all on their website, I can send you the manual if you want.

The other caliper has either no longer leg, or it's on the bottom, I can't remember.

I tried to use the wrong caliper with a 203mm Hayes rotor, it sort of works, but not that well, it doesn't quite match up with the right diameter. If you get/have the right caliper, these brakes kill with the 210mm rotor..

u need caliber for int. standard 8" and 210mm rotor, magura spare part number 0721 996

As mentioned above, the FR's come in two caliper configurations. Had to get a new caliper when I switched from 888's to the Fox 40 and run a standard 203MM rotor.

However, Magura is now making adapters in order for you to run the 210MM rotor with the Fox 40. Check out their site for prices and what not...
