Hmm, I might have to try a set of those eventually. But seriously, can it get any better than the Mono6?

Blasphemy!
The mono6ti rocks!
If you rode one and it sucked, it was set up by an idiot.
I've ridden lots, and they all sucked, both with floating rotors and without!
Its almost as heavy as a Gustav & not a patch on the braking performance!
I've ridden pretty much everything Hope(less) have had to offer & had nothing but problems & poor performance. Again, we rode in the Alps in France for 2 weeks this year, in a big group & every single person who had Hope brakes had issues.
I've since moved to Louise FR's or Saints, bike dependant, both of which are as strong as my M6/M4 set up, nearly half the weight and zero problems at all.
In 2 weeks of pure DH I never touched my brakes, along with all the other Saint riders.
Hope have a really poor rep in Europe of recent, and in my experiences, I can see why!

wierd. my mono6ti's have been brilliant for the 2+ years i've been running them - great power & modulation, never had to touch them. my old m4's were similarily awesome. i've had nothing but great experiences with my hopes.

Sweet!! I love the fact that you can get a 2 finger braking lever option. That is pure sickness.
Yup, ive had nothing but possitives to say about my hopes. My Mini's on my XC bike had enough power to take me down shuttle runs in colorado and new mexico (even with the 140mm rotor in the back!!), and my M4's (which im currently running) have amazing power and smoooooth modulation.
Hopes are either a love 'em or hate 'em deal. Its personal preference. All the haters need to stay out of this thread because thats all it is.... personal preference. No point in arguing over that. Nobody is gonna convince anyone of anything.

Truth, for the most part anyways. I would ride my gustavs over hope any day.

If you have Hopes and they're setup properly, then you have nothing to complain about. They're smooth as butter.
If you have Hopes and they're not setup properly or faulty one's, then you have everything to complain about.
Goes for all brakes and anything manufactured for riding.
Sucks for one person and the best thing since sliced bread for another.
Saying that all Hopes suck is just plain shortsighted and ignorant.
Look at the title of the thread "Hope fans only"
I can't see "Hope haters only" in there.. can you ?

That's because you are silly. Oh, and the Gustav's were basically made for you. Sadly the levers have nothing on Hopes, Shimanos or Louises.
To Mr. Hope-hater,
I am sorry you have had such a bad time with Hopes. Unfortunately you are missing out. I love my Hopes, the levers feel great and the brakes are so easy and instinctive to use, they make using other brakes seem difficult. Yes, some Hope brakes will need work. My rear Hope was never quite right from the start, so it got overhauled, problem solved. A friend with Louise Fr's had to get one of his brakes bled even though Magura has the 5 year thingy where they arent supposed to need bleeding, whatever, not a big deal, it can happen with any brakes. A friend with Gustav's had issues with his too, but he got it sorted, end of story. What am I trying to say? Nothing is perfect, find a brake with a nice lever feel, overhaul it if need be, and as long as it isn't a Hayes brake, you should be happy.
