i have a travis single on my king fisher 2 and whenever i pull up hard to do a wheelie or to lift off a jump or drop, it makes a loud banging noise like i was bottoming it out or something. it feels like something is stopping the the stachions from going any farther. i think either somethings loose or there isnt enough fluid in it... the rebound doesnt really work as well as it use to either. i asked my local bike shop and they said all forks do that and that thats normal but it affects the way i ride so i thought you guys would know better... any suggestions?

Take his advice - 'topping out' - is certainly not normal in any high-end fork and you need a reputable manitou dealer to organize a warranty repair asap.

What kind of damping you have on yours, TPC plus or Intrinsinc? Any ways your fork should not be making noise if your fork is a O.E fork that came with your bike you should check your oil level if your fork are a Intrinsinc if the fork is a TPC than your cartridge may be blown. Find a better LBS, good lucky!

I rode a Breakout+ awhile back, and it topped out. I added more air pressure, and was gtg.

take it to your lbs and have them send it to OGC.

Oh no... Not again!

I had the same banging top out noise on my TPC+ Single Travis. It was a problem that only OGC could fix. The parts list for my repair on my new fork was apparently as long as a grocery list. They did a lot of work to it. You're definitely going to need to ship it off to get it repaired, unfortunately.

You have my sympathy on this since I went through it myself.

Really? Most of the time a fork only needs 2 or 3 new parts for a service. Let's see what you got...

No, I think he means those 2 or 3 parts that brake after the 5th time become as long as a grocery list.

acuttaly lots of things go on the forks list.. but most are O rings or seals.. witch is like 3/5 on a list... alone.

Yeah, there were lots of O-rings and stuff in addition to that spring that wedged under the washer in the cartridge or something, plus a lot of bits that I weren't sure what they were. The page was basically full. I wish I got a photocopy before I left the shop. I did have oil coming out of the top caps of my fork, so I assume that they just did a bunch of extra stuff to cover all the bases. It was fully back in break in mode again when I got it back.

I prefer not to think about it anymore. It just makes me mad. I just hope it doesn't happen again. So far so good.
