2003 Marzocchi Super T, Used of course... you should be able to find one in good condition for under $500.

Slider for sure. They go together like vanilla and chocolate.

Anything with an axle to crown height less that 560mm.

The Slider uses obsolete tech(SPV). Go Boxxer Ride, Travis DC 180mm, or 04/05 SuperT. The 03 SuperT is not the best choice due to the lack of an adjustable lower crown.

How do I find out what the axle to crown height is ? And how does the length of that affect the fork on my bike?

Giant warranties the AC frame for a 170mm fork. Too long of an axle-to-crown height will rake out the head angle pass the point the frame's geo was designed to handle and can put stress on the headtube area.

Longer fork = slacker HA, slower steering, more control at speed, better on steeps, raises bottom bracket height, can shorten cockpit

Shorter fork = steepens HA, quick steering, less control at speeds, sketchier on steeps, lowers bottom height, can lengthen cockpit

The Slider uses obsolete tech(SPV).

he could send it in to get the SPV removed. Or he could do the mod himself. I rmember somebody posted a link on how to do that.....

True. I suppose I just haven't heard enough feedback to whether this is a viable solution to the issues that most SPV fork owners have been dealing with. If so, then go for it.

Why hasn't anybody mentioned SHIVERS? They are such great forks...can't you get them in a 7" version? They fit your price too.

what'd they come on id really like to see them.

Not sure who specd them. I heard about them in late 05, so they may have been an 06 model? Here's a pic I found...
