Alright, I've been inspired by Stuart to not only accept the WTA thugs challage of noise/ crazyness but to set out an open challenge to anybody willing to accept that they can't be as crazy, loud, and just generally nuts as the pink sign possie for the 07 slopestyle finals. I want the course to be have many groups of crazy people goin off and cheering for the riders as possible. Idealy along the lines of tour de france noise for every rider. Just people screaming for the riders who are doing things off stunts that most people wounldn't even dream of dead sailoring off of. The organizers need to also continue to step up and help somehow keep the crowd into the riders and keep the energy level up. They did quite good this year other than some of the commentating and the big gap between the final and super final wich even for my group killed a lot of energy off.
Comments?
People feel like taking us on?

We need this for the races too, id be stoked if we could atleast even jsut attract a crowd the size of the slope style one let alone the screaming. the scene for world cups and over in europe and even norbas for that matter is way better in terms of fans and everything. we need that here.

kokanee just needs to be giving away free samples like monster was and that'll solve your noise issue

I blame my quietness on how hungover I was... I had a cowbell.. but lost it! Next year will be much different!

yeah the specatators are to quite.
when i watched air dh no one was cheering, i was yelling just to try to get the stoke up.
i think slopestyle woulda been louder if it wasnt so long. like i was out 4 hours that night and cold as hell. plus so many people doing the same run over and over again took some of the excitement away.
ps free kokanee may be the answer
i was pretty dissapointed by the noise levels too, compare to most european events things were pretty sedate.
No air horns, no streakers, not enough beer, etc etc
i heard there was 15,000 people in attendance, it certainly didn't look like it.

It is much better to heckle the riders, then they feel they have something to prove and will crank it to 11 and huck themselves harder than ever. But if you are cheering for them anyways then they know the crowd will love them no matter what.
Pff you don't even know how to spectate properly. I was behind you guys for a while and you were really lame. There was definitely a pink shirt too.

Ever been to the Big Air during the Ski and Snowboard Festival? That usually pulls in about 10,000 and there was WAY more people at the Slopestyle then the Big Air has ever had.......

At those big Euro events everyone has a beer in their hand. Lack of public alcohol consumption means lack of crazy party atmosphere. Sorry to all you imperssionable kids out there but it's true. Maybe they could fence in the whole Slopstyle area and WB could get a special liquor license for it to be one huge beer garden!

WB needs to set up the slopestyle better for viewing, they need to plan out areas for spectators and bleachers would probably help pack em it too, that will make it better, most people on course could only see a couple jumps

Agreed... we scoped it out as we wnet up and then settled on right at the base of the Gap-a-Tron... seems like the best place and we could watch the action on the big screen.
But in all honesty setting that up to see all would be impossible. With so many options it would be hard to see it all.

they should split the crowd in half with the race course, and make one side beer gardens.

Mark Stokes got a pretty good cheer. It was sarcastic, though.
I think it's a good idea. There was a lot of, "Oh shit" and "YAAAH!one1", but it was pretty quiet. We just need someone to get everyone else stoked. And maybe some free Kokanee.
thay should have used the big TV during the races, so people could see the riders coming down the hill.

I know you are not going to see everything, but they could make a huge berm that people could view from that would get you say half the course, also another screen for viewing would be good

another screen for viewing would be good
i'd say 2 more, 1 for each side of the upper course.
beer gardens, bleachers and portable toilets up top are a must if they want more people there, i'd really enjoy these items myself too.

So have they set the dates for the 07 Crankworks yet? My gf and I are planning on coming over from Australia. Just starting to plan it all now. Will be awesome.
