Wasn't too busy mike.. but for being not open.. still pretty busy.

All the stuff in there is deffinately quality ramps/foam and such so deffinately worth the price if you're wanting to learn.. When I was there, I asked about a resi-ramp and was told one is being put in but not sure if that was true

When I went to check out the airdome, it was free. That was before it officially opened and in between summer gravity camps.

The concept of the airdome is dope. I didn't ride and didn't want to embarass myself in front of the pros. But it looks very smooth, dry and has a huge foam pit. Perfect for the winter months.

When I was there about two weeks ago, there wasn't much space to drop in. The drop in section was quite steep, so you had to either boot it to get up the drop in, or pass your bike up and do some climbing. I'm sure they'll change this before it offically opens.

It seems like the airdome would be too busy with more than 15 riders. There were about two different lines at the time I went to check it out. Keep in mind it takes a long time for each rider to climb outside of the huge foam pit.

Anyways, kudos to Whistler for building up the airdome. If anything, the local riders are going to progress their aerial moves exponentially.

BMXers are welcome, of course. We already had some of the McNeil crew there and Jay Miron helped us out with ideas.
The Air Dome is not just about the foam pit. The whole place will flow, so it should be fun to ride, not just huck.

hit the air dome today. It was sick. Jordie Lunn and Ben Boyko were there working on new things which was cool to see. I just messed around mostly. I suck at life so i didn't do too much. Just tried some super wips like vanderham and then i just tried to 360 the rest of the time. It was hard on a 50lbs dh bike to throw a 3 but some of the guys there gave some tips and it helped. On my last attempt i tried to get lots of air for the 3 and some how managed to sprain my ankle so i just chilled and watched everybody else. There were a whole bunch of bmx guys there just goin off trying things like double wips, front flips and so many other variations.

Anyone know how busy that place gets on a weekend? Is it ridiculous?

We went to the foam pit on Saturday for the early shift and it seemed like everyone else had the same idea. We had a jam with about 20 people, which is definitely maxing it out. It was still super fun though, it gave you time to think about what you could do and rest up to nail it. The new roll in is done and the ramps up/down are super dope.

By the time we left at 3, there were about 5 people there.

Good times....
