Yup my wife and i were there a week after they opened and lets just say they went from being a killer bike park to needing some SERIOUS TLC:crybaby:

I have to agree. SP needs some TLC. Lots of work needed to keep up with SS. Silver Star is FABULOUS!!!!! Wicked flow, innovative features. Good variety.
Sun Peaks is just beaten up. I still love Sugar to Sweet One and my favorite trail ever is the top of Big Rock Ride absolutley ripping the alpine flowers railing corners, BUT Silver Star kicks Sun Peaks butt this year.
Whistler is still #1 but SS has the potential to rival it like no other hill.

I have to agree that SP needs A LOT of TLC. But nonetheless, its still very fun to rip.
I don't understand how they can dump so much money into new trails and not maintain any of them. Its a shame.
I ride up there every week. Right now its dry like everything else in BC. But if you stick to thinks like Sugar, Sweet One, Honey Drop, Cat Trax, Barn Burner, Gummy Bear and Mach things are pretty good. Its trails like Route 66 and Steam Shovel that need tons of work.

yep, rode Sun Peaks the other day. They have some fun trails especially Sugar. Then my bike got stolen the next day in Kamloops.

i was actually talking to one of the trail crew from sunpeaks at the bike ranch a few days ago and hes just as pissed at the lack of matinence as we are. theres 4 of them to maintain the entire hill im prety sure most of them work part time as well. he said the only thing we can do is complain to them maybe if we do they will get the message... its just seems like sunpeaks interests are elsewhere(new quad going in for ski season) they really need to get it together. for now silverstar is where im gunna be riding. and i think thats what alot of people are doing. when i was up ther last season i had a prety good time, i loved sugar and sweet one. but the rest wasnt that great even then the trails werent in that good of condition. when you go to silverstar its hard to find a trail you dont like(for me it is at least) ya in the high trafic places there were som really good brake bumps but they werent there in the morning which shows that the trail crew is doing their job.

SP has the little survey's the send up the chair with you but it seems they aren't paying attention to them at all. Every time I get one I write the same thing. 1) Maintain your trails 2) develop "skills" areas 3) Add more bike racks.
3 simple things that would put SP right back into the game. None of which have been done.
I wonder what they would say if a group of guys showed up with shovels and rakes and offered to help? Someone on another thread suggested SP offer up a trail day and offer free day lift passes for the people who help out. I think thats a great idea. If you can't do it yourself, get some help.
I agree complaints need to be raised but it seems to be falling on deaf ears. I don't want to have to start driving the extra 1/2 hour to SS but it will happen if SP doesn't get their shit in order.

We actually sent SP a nicely typed letter voicing our concerns(after talking to one of the shop managers at the hill and asked us if we could do that cause hes as frustrated as the riders) and got a BS letter back YADA YADA YADA.... We have done have done this ...WE have done that?????? I want to know where.....same nails and shit sticking out from last year.....same errosion??????? Ive also heard that only one of the trail crew is actually a rider so you cant blame it on them but come on YOU GOTTA HAVE RIDERS DO THE BUILDING.......Im a vernon local so im going to mainly ride SS but having SP still in the bike park game only benefits our resort as well....more riders will road trip to the interior. If they dont get their shit together they will just be sending more business straight to vernon without a pit stop in Loops first:banned:

Its funny how things change..SS used to be the raggedy mountian and everyone whent to SP....a few years and a little neglect sure does change things eh.
