I have been having my drive side crank coming loose about every week to week and a half. Pulled the crank. No damage to splines. Is this a common problem?

Talked with a mechanic who says I need some kind of washer on that side for this to stop. Is this correct?

The bolts for these usually have a washer attached. If there is no washer, you might want to replace the bolt with one that has the washer attached.
If there is no washer then that definately is the problem.

clean the bolt interface and blue locktite that thing. make sure u really crank it tight. the washer on that bolt isn't suppose to come off.

Pulled the cranks and BB to inspect better and here's the info,

1. The crank bolts have the washer on them, on pretty tight. Would need to pound them out.

2. The bolt when tightened IS NOt bottoming out on the spindle.

3. All threads look good.

Will reinstall them on Friday and will loctite them next, Will use the BLUE loctite.

grease the ISIS splines to help it slide in easy. loctite the threads of the bolt only.

So I shouldn't weld it in place?
