My friend has a Dobermann Pinscher frame that he is willing to sell to me for really cheap, but I'm concerned about it a little. I am going to race a lot of 4X and slalom next year. Would this bike work in this application with a Pike up front? I noticed that the frame doesn't have the ISCG tabs for a chainguide, and I need to run a chainguide on whatever frame I get. Are there any guides that could be mounted differently that would still work well? Thanks.

i just somewhat answered my own question because i saw that e13 makes adapters. how would you install these on a frame though?

You can get guides/adapters that mount inbetween your bottom bracket cup and bottom bracket shell.
