street/park riding- vancouver

hey all

im a street/park rider from edmonton whos here until august 12 around and i have had trouble finding street riders here...:???:

im 15 and ride a norco 604 with too much hard earned money put into it and im desperate to find some riders and spots as ive been here for a week and a half with no luck

im up for a ride anytime tomorrow (wednesday the 12th) or thursday

Every friday from 7 to 8 PM we meet at the Vancouver Art Gallery south stairs. Look for the Friday nite Urban thread in this area. I rode alone last week so I would like you to come out. If I get some time Wednesday night i'll call. Where are you staying?

i dont mind distances one bit, i rode downtown and to UBC one day, that was fun

Welcome to the neighbourhood. :) There are probably a half-dozen street spots within a half-dozen blocks of your front door. Just pedal around and check out the alleyways.

A word of caution, though: not to discourage your exploration, but as a 15-year-old out-of-towner aboard a bike with "too much hard earned money put into it," remember to keep your head up. East Van can be sketchy.

Yeah, when it's not raining, the firday night urban trips are a great way to meet some folk, and see some spots. You'll have lots of time to find spots, and we'll show you some.

allthough im an out of towner and 15
i lived here until i was 13 in the same 'hood and i dont even feel comfortable with my bike locked up

are all the parks on the east side?

and the one by the PNE, it has a fence and whatnot, but will they shoot you if you hop it?

Yeah definitly, I can't make any of the friday rides... I ride during the day, before 5pm, really late at night eg, 4am... or evenings on my nights off, mon/tues/thurs
