This year we plan to tackle one of the more epic trails in the Whistler Valley just to mix things up and find out what the riders are made of.

I think they're probably going to shuttle Gargamel.

I'd like to see CN though...fitness is an important part of any riding!

Who's shrew in real life?

John K has it in the bag
Sorry there young son, all this event will be for john is exposure, he dosent ride often any more, and what style he had before he is laking now, he has never been the smoothst rider, and from what i have seen, the NSMB team is made up of riders that may not send it the hugest, but they have insane ammounts of style and push everything, sure john hucks big, but thats bout all he can look good doin, no offence to him, hees a fucking amazing rider with a big bag of tricks, none of wich are where the sport is heading. But i dont think he will be a strong contender. Mind you, im glad to see we have 2 richmond boys out there, Props to Ian and John, they both rip hard.

two Kelowna riders, and a Vernon rider, as well as Graham Aggasiz from
Kamloops. Good lots of Okanaga/Interior riders in the comp.

"Is there any senders in the comp" You all seen the Interior section
at the end of Roam.

I am sure everyone in this comp is a crazy talented rider, and you never know
who is going to win, cuz folks don't always know what's going down
in other towns. It will be a good one!!!!

I'm sure all the riders on the invite list will rip it up. It'll probably come down to the interview session.

yeah Nato is also a "sender"

There's a vid of him and Schnepf training Gillard, and one of them almost eats it, but I don't remember what it was in, maybe DropIn.

Congrats to all who made it!

Good to see the competition being taken outside the "comfort zone" of Whistler that some riders depend on.
This will truly seperate the mice from the men. For some, this actually might be a rude awakening.

Good call NSMB.

And for course, go MJ!!! You can doooooooo itttttt!

DaveM
07-12-2006, 12:49 PM
Matt, take some bug spray and a snack. You're gonna have a long wait at the top of Gargamel for everyone else to get up there.

yeah really, contrary to what everyone says about "3s, no foot cans, etc." If you look at everyone else on the team, that's not what they're looking for at all.

Matt, you should try to lap the kiddies wherever you go climbing..

I think the contenders should bring 3 bikes...

1 for the Park,
1 for riding up to Gargamel,
1 for DJing the hits by the river.

That's a big requirement.

word on the street bar humps and tire grabs are bonus points like skinnies in ripper races. I want to see lots!

apeshape
07-12-2006, 01:47 PM
I heard that there's also the Synchro Deli option. Ride with a ham sandwich between your taint and the blessing of your forefathers and you double your points. Triple your points if you have the stomach for the bonus round.

Very entertaining to catch some of the action in the boneyard today!

Have to admit - Benton's backflips and corked backflip off the ski jump were very impressive. And he showed a lot of toughness in getting up and riding on after a couple of hard slams.

I was very suprised to see that Matt and Grant did not make the final 4. Matt gueni-pigged pretty much everything and was VERY consistent. Grant was ULTRA smooth on the SX trail - you couldn't hear sound when he dropped the road gap. I thought Jesse showed great style as well. And the kid on the white Brodie (sorry, I missed you name) had a nice bag tricks.

Sideshow was encouraging the boys to link up some combos - ie. the road gap, berm, and then dirt jump. I thought it was funny when Jesse said to him "It's pretty hard - why don't YOU try it?"

Anyway - The judges had a tough job today for sure. Congrats to Benson. Good work boys!
