Well it seems this year's Tour de France will be even more exciting.
Basso and Ullrich are both out, along with a potentially huge number
of other riders.

I see this as both good and bad.

Bad - It perpetuates the image of cycling as one of being filled with
drugs and cheaters.

Good - Cycling is cleaning up, and now there are no clear front runners,
so we have a real race on our hands.

I think my current long shot (and when I say long shot, I mean
___long___ shot) favourite is the young Frenchman Tomas Voekler
who held the yellow jersey for so long in the 2004 Tour. This guy has
more heart than most. He doesn't understand giving up. Gotta love
it!

Honestly, what the F do doping investigators do for the rest of the year? do they have other jobs that only allow them to break doping scandals just before the TDF? Is it part of the deal. "OK you've got the credentials to investigate doping allegations, only dont bother to tell me until the first week of June."

Well,I'm not big on the dope, and I didn't set up either of those guys with the juice.

For what it's worth though,Presidents Choice de-alcoholized lager is pretty damn good for a near beer.So is the Becks stuff.

Any other questions?

As usual, Big Jonny at the Drunkcyclist (http://drunkcyclist.com/)sums it up the best.

I think we all knew it was more than mineral water.

Earlier today a friend of mine wrote "and of course the ultimate truth .. of course Lance doped .. you think he could drill Ulle into the ground on natural genetics and training alone??? Nobody thinks that now, who is rational .. the last blanket of Armstrong has been blown off ..."

Shit. Some people are probably still wearing their "I believe Tyler" buttons.

what do you have to say for yourself Derek? Fuck, I've looked up to the guy since fucking 1996. bought me a telekom jersey or two, used to wear them to road races, peeps thought were related, I used to beam with pride when people asked me if there was any relation. I thought he was pretty cool by crashing his porsche, I mean the guy could do no wrong in my eyes! hell, I even have a book in German detailing his win in 97.

but now I think he's gayer than bertuzzi, those two RCMP due to wed any day now, insane wayne crosdale, jaromir jagr, nickleback AND blaine put together. that's pretty fucking gay.

There was a deocumentation on TV last night and one said that nearly all of the top riders are "doped" because they could not last the looong climbs going at full strength all the time. The American was just lucky...Jan was IMO the "scape goat". He has had troubles with a lot of folks in the last years.

So no one actually tested positive, and it's all been guilt by association. True statement?

As I understand it, they have "been named in a document".

Could get even worse:
Sports other than cycling are involved in the Spanish anti-doping probe which has rocked the Tour de France, the UCI president said on Saturday. "Only riders have been named so far. But many footballers, tennis players and athletes are on the list," Pat McQuaid told Reuters

  - well, embarassed to say "yep" here, switch. Still, the "new" nickelback album has a nice opening song i think - i know, i know - they are more like popstars.

I know the name, but I have no idea who Nickelback is, or what songs they sing. I assume that they are a pseudo pop band or have had a couple of radio hits.

If so, you must remember that in our (Canada->BC) culture, it isn't cool to like a band that has a hit on the radio. Hating is also popular - hating Nickelback would be cool. Being trendy is also very cool. And trends change hourly, so you have to really keep up on MSN to stay in the cool zone.
