ok so... Dennis, Gunth and I decided to hit up Hoodlums for the day. While they shredded it up I was snappin' some pics but unfortunately I came ill prepared so I ran into some complications with my flash. Any way...at around 630ish Gunth peaced it and went home so Dennis and I decided to fix up the line furthest to the left, (2 jumps and a bad ass hip with about an 8 ft gap. )
So I set up flash, tripod, f-stop, shutter speed, etc... and claime a sick angle to shoot the hip and just before Dennis goes to hit it some random kid nose dives of a jump and breaks his leg, (donno for sure if it was broken, might of bin badly sprained or buised). So we drop our shit and call 9-1-1 and try to calm this poor bro down.
Unfortunately we ran out of time and Dennis didnt hit the hip :crybaby: . We left and 2 fire trucks and an ambulance came to the scene lol.

I took a few shots today but due to the lighting and flash gay-ness I am only really happy with these 2.

Any way.....critique me plz!!!

Here is Will, (AKA, gunth), jus' crusin' wit' a sick tabe. Yes this is an ass shot but that was the sickest angle for this perticular jump.

and here is Dennis jus steezin' it through his line.

so thats that!...Dennis and I are goin back up 2mrw to claime that hip so check back 2 mrw and hopefully I will have that shot dailed!

The Pikey & Limey, and a bit of work from others (Andy, some straglers and myself) made that hip, but it wasn’t good to go as we left it, run in was way too soft – needed some water and time. The hips take off was ok, but the jump before it needed some work on both lip and landing and the in run for the hip was fairly soft.

Not something to take lightly, I'm surprised the kid would send it..unless he could stomp the lower right hip on the big line. Sorry to hear someone got hurt on it.

By the way, two brits (one an out of towner) deserve a lot of credit for the maintenance of Hoodlums lately. Thanks Dave and Martin!

yea we obviously thought of that but the kid had a broken leg...how were we supposed to carry him out???..he was lying crumpled in the middle of hoodlums....it would be like a 20 min walk out if we carried him. plus when we called 911 they told us to make sure he stays were he is.
any way there have been way more severe injuries that occured at hoodlums and the authorities always threaten to close hoodlums but no one has yet.
Dennis and I hopefully will head back there 2 day and get a money shot of that hip. I spent at least 2 hours finishing that line so its very ridable now...the trannies are fukin butter too!!!
hope that guy is ok.

Yeah that's the attitude. Keep poking that sleeping bear.

Grow up and carry the kid out next time. Stop taking everything in your life for granted.

The only time you don't carry the person out is if they're unconscious or there's a possible spinal.

Hmm.. looks like the kid who left garbage at Hoodlums last week....:swearing:

guys, you dont want to attract any more attention to that place if you can help it. and getting th ambulance and firetrucks in is not good news really, esp. with news of a kid breaking himself. If it was only his leg just carry him out as mattj said, only if it's neck/back related you can worry.
oh yeah, i'm the out of towner whos spent the past 3 weeks digging up there to sort the lines out. cant believe you locals havn't done it sooner that place was in a mess. The new hip line looks sick, would love to know what you spent 2 hours on though.

and just a little note, TAKE YOUR GARBAGE HOME!! I'm not a local, but even so me and my buddies have walked out of there with buckets full of garbage that everyone else leaves up there. Respect the place for feks sake and keep it clean.

and yeah, that dude above left loads of subway wrappers and crap up there the other day after we blitzed the place and made it all tidy and spanking.

im the kid you claimed left all that shit there
that wasnt actually me fyi its usually my friends i try to take out all the garbage i can but i can admit to leaving a subway wrapper and for that im sorry

another thing, kerga didnt actually call 911. the kid who was the friend of the guy who mangled his leg did. the kid who mangled his leg was lying there screaming and freaking so if we even tried to pick him up and carry him out we probably wouldnt have much success. like kerga said there have been much worse injuries and threats to close hoodlums but it hasnt happened yet

So heres an update, after talking to brother of the kid who went down, apparently he snaped his femur 10Cm from the hip, and it is overlaping by about 3Cm, so he is going in forsurgery for some Sweet Titanium accesories!

Surgery is scheduled for 1 oclock- my idiot brother just ruined his whole summer....

PS good luck to hurt dude. With a femur I guess you have to call the ambulance in to wherever you are. A femur is a possible life-threatening if the femoral artery is severed. So you shouldn't have moved him anyways...

I know it feels like everyone is dumping on you guys. And sorry for that. We're not really accusing you guys of being the reason the jumps will/may get torn down. We're just trying to teach you and anyone else that may read this the ettiquette of protecting the precious few riding spots that we have...

Ps good pics! Keep progressing. The only thing I may suggest is to somehow try and not rely on the flash so much, because it looks like a night shot.

One of the paramedics actually wanted to know where the trail started so that he could ride it... ahahah i dunno if this'll cause a closure..thats just my thought

Just tell them they're making you look bad and to have more respect for the place. It won't be there forever, pack out what you pack in.

I love how a month ago mattj ripped on me for trying to get a stupid jump torn down up there, and now he really cares about the preservation of the precious few riding spots we have. Rip into people first, get your facts straight later...

yea now i'm really glad we never treid to move him...thats the problem when shit like this happens...you really dont have any idea if the injury is more serious then it seems.
but oh god his femur...fuckkkkk. my deepest regrets to the bro.
hey mac primo..tell ur bro that the kid with the camera wishes him the best of luck

My argument wasn't against the preservation of hoodlums. My argument was that the big jump did not threaten the future of hoodlums. Why don't you learn to read?

yah, hoodlums should be safe, cause i know the kid who broke his leg and apperently the ambulance drivers had no interest at all in saying anything about it.
