This is an epic xc ride just North of Whistler. This story is composed of pictures from two different times we did this trail. Summer of 04, and last May 28th.

Holy Crap, now I am definately happy to have a Chap. I'd like to ride there, once I get my XC legs back in shape!!!
Sharon, you and Lee are opening my eyes to what I'd really like to try!!!

How high did you get before you hit snow?
We'll be happy to take you on a ride on numb!

Hiked 2 hr above the cabin and still clean trail. I think snow is just in the alpine. Check out pics on Smokes site. He recently was up top.
How much time is needed for C.Knumb?

4-6 hours depending on how often you stop and if you ride from the day skier parking lot.
The trail itself is 23km long and you should be able to do it in ~4 hours at a constant ( not race... ) pace.

The same map as posted above is available for free at any bike shops in Whistler.

we have been looking at doing that trail for a long time - everytime I go down to Whistler for 3 days I always tell myself I will ride the park the first two days and do that the third - and well... by the third I am never in any shape to do anything.
thanks so much - those pictures are so beautiful - and very inspiring.... makes me want to head to Whistler and leave the DH bike at home.
I definately want to check that trial out soon - So how much time should we give ourselves ?? - oopss just found the answer above.

"There is no pain, you are receding
My hands felt just like two balloons
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I have become comfortably numb."
Those lines pretty much sum it up. The look on my face helps too (and that was only about 1/2 way through)

Great TR Lee!
I rode the trail on my "small" bike today. Man, I had forgotten how fun this trail is. Especially that neon green, loamy middle section after Wedge creek. Really gives you that unique feeling of "just me and the trail." It's almost surreal. Anyway - the trail is in perfect condition right now. Bone dry, but not dusty. It was very hot today. A 4 L water day. Thank God for the shade. This trail is hard work, but very rewarding.
BTW - It took me 3 hours 20 mins. I reckon, not bad for an old dude on a 35 lb bike. I wanted to hit garbo after to cap off my epic day but my 5th E crapped out on me during my warm up run down A-line.
