Ahh another thumper convert!
i rode 4 strokes all my life and hated them,
never had nuff top end to do what i wanted to do,
till i rode my buddys 05 CRF 250, that thing fucking romps!
with the white bros pipe, that bike will beat the shit out of any 2stroke imo,
more useable power, and for a 4 stroke it still has a hell of alot of top end.
but i will still say 4 strokes are a lazy mans ride, you have to work a 2 stroke alot harder to make it work for you.
have fun on that thing looks soo nice!

I gotta move to Kamloops!

How do you get the chain to go all wavy the way it does in the pic?

the chain rests on the swing arm...then dips till the sprocket

You used to have a YZ250 didn't you? What are you doing with that one? Traded in? Selling? Asking price? Too many questions?

That's Leclerc, not me. This is my first bike since 20 years ago when I had a YZ80.

Switch, the chains on these things are super slack compared to say, a SS mountain bike.

My buddy has a YZF450 and its so much fun.. I rode his brothers yzf250 and its not even as fast as my old KX125...I was really dissapointed. I think the YFZ450 is the only 4 stroke ive ever ridden that had balls..to bad it only has 4 gears :flame: .

Oh yah...forgot to mention Have fun :agree:

Nice!
I think I'm picking up a WR450F to use on the streets here. I really like how pretty much anything is street legal in Korea. I saw a pizza guy using a Raptor to deliver pizzas last week...
The WR has enduro-spec lights, and I can put the turn signals off my curent POS bike onto it.

Less power than a 125? Sorry but that's simply not possible unless you bore it out. If a kx125 had more power they'd be racing them still.

The 450 was a 4 speed, its now a 5.

I want to buy a bike, but I don't want to get rid of my 400ex yet either, and can't have both.. when i move out of mcmurray i will probbly end up selling the quad and buying a bike though..

it will be a honda though :P

Just did my first rip to break it in. Soooo much fun!! Had her tapped out in 5th on a sketchy fireroad - scary as all hell but completely wicked. Letting the ass end drift around rutted corners then gasing the shit out of it brought back fond memories as a little redneck kid. The perfect amount of power for someone my size starting out. If you can ride a DH bike, you can ride on of these.

Nice bike. I agree that any decent MTB rider and make the switch to dirtbikes.

Do you run your MTB brakes switched to match the moto? I suggest you make the switch, after the initial change it's easier on the brain to have them both the same.

Fvck and I jonesing to get my XR400 out on some singletrack.

I need to find some cheap little trailer so I can move it around. The only regret I have about not having a pick-up anymore.

umm.. the 250cc four strokes race in the same class as the 125cc two strokes... but four strokes are getting more popular now(MX racers are getting sponsered, companies want to push on the four strokes) Im not a fan, I love the simplicity of a 2 stroke and the powerband and the way they sound..

No way, I'm not goin' Euro-trash with my MTB. I can wrap my brain around the wo bikes pretty easily. The dirt bike was no adjustment in terms of braking and clutching and the MTB won't be either.

Madman, are you serious? 250's in the 125 class? Next thing they'll be calling them the "lites" class! What do you say for privateers who have to pay for their bikes? The buying customer is not getting 125's and for good reason. There's not a stock 125 that can hang down low with a stock 250F. Maybe up at the meaty part of the HP curve, but everywhere else there's no way. You have to ring the shit out of a 125 to make any decent horsepower.

My old friend (and ex-MTB superfastguy) Tony Nordee took me out yesterday riding singletrack just outside of Kamloops. It was crazy! Opened out in 4th and 5th through the trees (~80+kms/hr), then we hit gnarly hill climbs that were so steep and rutted it was hard to keep my front wheel down. That bastard worked me over! No complaints about power whatsoever. Love it!!

Leclerc must be outta town or he'd chime in I'm sure.;)
