Does anybody have any practical experience with the Gamut USA chain guides. There is a review from MTB UK on their web-site that says it is one of the lightest and easiest to install on a bike (I hear that E-13 can be a bit difficult to install). I'm looking for information from somebody who is running one, and has installed one.

Friend of mine has one on his pdc. Its really light apparently and he seems to have used it for the last several months worry free. PM xy9ine and he can give you the skinny on it.

The Gamuts are really light and I´ve heard that they perform well. I don´t know how difficult it is to install, but I can tell you that the e13s (at least for a single ring) are super easy to install. The instructions are very clear and it took me - I´m the most untalented mechanic ever - about 15 minutes to install.
My opinion about chain guides is, no matter whether you buy a Race Face, e13, Gamut or MRP, you propably won´t feel a performance difference. Their purpose is to prevent the chain falling off, and that´s basically it. I doubt that a chainguide that is 40 grams heavier or lighter than another one will increase the overall performance. As I said, all of the chain guides from the companies with a good reputation will do their job, so at least in my opinion, when it comes down to chain guides, the factors are price, availability and the look. I always wanted to have an e13 because I´ve heard lots of good things about them and I thought that they look really cool. Now I have one, it performs really well and my bike does look a lot cooler...
