Whats going on right now in there? Is the bikerx done? In the webcam it looks like theyve almost built up the marzocchi box, but it pointed sideways towards the riad gap area. If you have pictures... thad be swell

The box is below the road gap. Looks like we'll be hipping off the box this year!

Nothing finished as of yesterday afternoon but they're working hard and it looks like the Biker-X and boneyard will open very soon. Great job Boneyard crew! Looks like burly stuff.

I was there... without my bike... but the park looks sick, way better than last year. The Trailer is way up near the top and there are some huge jumps there this year... huge!

Can't wait, the bike report says that they are going to have it open for next weekend... looking good!

I was up there yesterday, the giro trailer is at the top. the road gap is in the same spot, duh, but beside it is a drop to launch gap to the tranny of the road gap it looks nuts. some one will flip out of it for sure. there is a street spine which is sweet. their still building it. it afte the berm of the road gap. Cowan was working on the jumps yesterday he got alot done. teh biker X cousre is roughed out. the big wooden box is build, the FT quarter pipe is built. The C wall is place out in the trees right after the road gap. It looks like they are putting in some small/medium step downs in the course and that about it. and they just started on the Red bull elevation jumps.

Last weekend, its was flat dirt.

06-06-2006, 07:55 PM
So yah by the looks of the web cam the box is turned sideways
to last year. That would be cool if you had to rail a berm to make it instead
of braking like last year. I can also see lots of piles of dirt which looks like
roughed in jumps of course. I hope there is some stuff there to hit this
Thurs/Fri/Sat cuz I'm in whis for 4 days. :smokey:

cervo

golden triangle is one really good trail when you drop into it from dufman, it's tons of fun and now i finnally gonna be able to hit the top and drop off that damn good rock wall with that new wall right behind it... swweeeettt
for the c-wall that's true, the last time when we moved it from his winter residence (water tower) on the way down we cracked the top of the curve but no worries, it will be readdy soon and will look like on my 3d plans ;)

summers are too short in whistler to wait for cowan and schley.

especially when the master builders dave and marty are here, local, and know what to do.

for biker x at least.

i can see how some of the freeriders would get whiney if the boneyard wasn't cowan or schley approved, but the biker x................

dave and marty are the dudes.they ride moto, know their shit, and are here.

unfortunatly am not working for the trail crew this year... won't get my visa in time for the summer, so am just doing what i can and what i want because i don't get money at all... and richie's stunt is not on the park... i have 100 of projects every where on the bike park to make the trails better and fun, also to fix some crappy spots... but probably won't happen :(

serious stacy......there's this seemingly prevailing attitude right now that W/B is a bit too concerned about making shit look gnarly, than building stuff that everyone can ride........thing about the bsx course? it doesn't need big gaps in it, it can be made rideable for everyone and still have big moves on it. Does it look as do or die on film of still? maybe not, but it'd be a big move none-the-less......it was my first day in the park saturday, and almost everyone I rode up the chair with was bummed about the difficulty of the bsx course and the seemingly large nature of the boneyard....I dig hard stuff, I like the challenge, but I also don't like seeing so many people discouraged by how difficult certain things are becoming when they could very easily accomidate a wider range of skill levels.....don't forget the riders at that earlier stage of development, if it's all or nothing very few will even attempt to get there, and that's not healthy for the sport...

....I don't want to be a complete buzz-kill here, the park is a pretty amazing place, and I have a lot of fun there, I just think that there are a few places that could improve and make the experience even better for a wider range of rider....

cervo
06-13-2006, 12:51 AM
don't worry flipfantasia, the gaps on BX will get some nice wood decking and will be removed for CW events... the boneyard will also get some nice sweet jumps every where and not only as big as the huge double you can see the dirt piles after the slopestyle dirt road gap, but it's true it won't be empty this year, jumps and features every where...

FlipFantasia
06-13-2006, 12:56 AM
that's good to know, people should hear that though, there are apparently a lot of misconceptions.....

cervo
06-13-2006, 01:01 AM
but you know i prefer this year BX who's more technical than last year who was maybe easier to roll but fucking dangerous if you miss a jump at a freaking high speed, this year will be better i think; less crashes and am pretty sure more riders in it because some lines will part of slopestyle course to double the fun ;)

stacy kohut
06-13-2006, 08:49 AM
does not look all that hard.

the jumps and trannies are are rollable...........

shit i have no freaking legs and i am gonna do fine.

plywood decks?

just put a rollable freakin tranny inbetween.
believe me, cedric and crew are still gonna jump it.

EVERY jump in a supercross track is rollable.
it has to be, for safety sake.

there is no 'gaps' in supercross tracks.

the course is not gonna be that hard, and it will be fun for all, and it will have multiple lines.

BUT its june 13th,almost 6 weeks since that area of the park was workable and its still not done.

there are some things in whistler i will never understand.
time management is one of them, and this ain't just a wb thing, this is all over whistler.
(athletes village,affordable housing,olympic and paralympic preperations,etc , etc)
wasting time is harsh cause ya can never get it back.

money comes and goes, time , when its gone, its gone.

still best park in the world, best staff in the world, best place to live in the world.

but.................
i wanna train biker x dammit!!!!!!!!!
