Kalebs shot is dope, probably better, but i've seen much more out of Reid as a photographer overall, so he got the vote.

Mikes shot won me over. I love the shore shots, nobody shoots those enough because they are a challenge to get right, reid did an excellent job and got my vote.

Yeppers.

I voted Caleb. I didn't think that Reid's shot was up to par with the rest of his work. (or Caleb's photo in this round)

its a different shot, Shore is the hardest stuff to shoot, lighting is so hard to make work and everything, but thats your opinion, I truly think this is one of my best shots, but its hard to judge because its different

I like Reids alot. I also really like Kalebs. Taking into account the amount of time Reid had to shoot his photo, and the fact I love the cool warm colour contrast of nature and the riders hoodie, he gets my vote.

i was sitting in the cafeteria with reid today at lunch, he was telling me his story about how he had gone all the way to kamloops on wednesday (it is thursday when he is telling me this) and that he arrived for a sunset hip shot only to have flat light and no chance of a decent show. He hopped in his car and drove home arriving at 1am. Around 1pm today he was desperately trying to convince a rider to come wiht him after school and hit this 'epic' drop. I didnt speak to him since, but after logging on here and seeing his photo he definitley got the job done.
for his unbelievable vision on a shot and ability to produce a image that makes me wanna start riding again he wins my vote.

reid you basically won man!!!....unreal! but yea thats harsh how kamloops didnt have that nice blue sky that you were talking about......but you still got the job done!!

kaleb's shot is really sick to but i dont think 4:00 was the best time to take that shot...the glare in that shot is slightly overwhelming i think but thats just my 2 cents

ne ways good luck to all the contestants!!

It was neck and neck with Ried's but I gotta go with Kaleb's shot. Nice light, dust, good landscape, and a great Move. My interior bias might be showing but it seems like just about everything was conspiring together for that shot.

i was sitting at work looking out the window the entire day when reid went out to shoot that shot. if you saw what the weather was like on the shore that day you can appreciate how rediculous the conditions were. To get anything half decent from it would have taken a fair deal of skill, and thats a sick shot. regardless of the outcome, congrats on a great shot and a great competition mike.

I like Christians, the shore photos have too much flash going. I like natural look to photos. Plus the compostition is excellent Nice rider against the sky with enough mountain for the trick to make sense.

1.Kaleb
2.Stephen
2.Mike
4.Christian

Yeah, there are two 2's... tie for second. Sick trick over the creek = deadly. Kaleb's shot just has a really nice look to it with the dusty trail snaking down from behind the rider... good work all though.

gotta give a thumbs down on the first shot for the same reasons big dipper did on a photo a few weeks ago - a one off stunt with a landing built up right next to a stream is irrespnsible. not crazy about reid's shot for what appears to be similar antics - nailing into a live tree.

in terms of the all the shots while the moves are big, none of them really inspired me. i'm just tired of the endless parade of cookie cutter big air shots. i'd like something more original kinda like reid's shot from weeks back of the rider in the barn shot thru some broken slats in the wall.

if i had to vote for a shot based purely on the composition i'd vote for the first, stephen rowe's, as it has the greatest visual impact of the four for me. but, for the reasons mentioned above, i'm not going to vote for it or any of the rest of them. too bad we didn't have that option

good luck guys and crongrats to the winner.

rowe's rider seemed to be a bit too hot, which is unfortunate.
Christian's shot is unique but I think there is too much sky.
Tough between Kaleb and Reid. Both such completely different shots! I'm glad it didn't work out for Reid in 'Loops cause this shot is so dope. But is it a little soft? I'm gonna look at them again.

Reid's photo captures most closely the feeling that I look for when I ride...but none of these shots seem to be the best we've seen of the respective photographers.

Ok, looked at them again. The Looops shot is sharpened a bit too much and with Reids - a)shooting in the woods is the hardest thing in the world and b) looks like the rider's first drop. (no tranny tracks) Vote to Reid. Just tell him to get out of this thread.

Just looks like such a hard shot to get. Good strong light in under the trees and good timing. Obviously knows how to use his equipment.

Kalebs shot doesn't look like as much effort went into getting it done. Still a great shot though.

I really liked Stephen Rowe's shot, but the trace of the rider completely ruins the shot. Just not there with the lighting. Nice composition though.

Christian Kaegi's shot just doesn't inspire in the same way as the others.

Don't think any of the shots are as good as previous, but the top two are getting close to it. Strange how all of the shots show the rider as a relatively small aspect of the shot. Mabe being a bit safe and relying on the surroundings to help the photo along.

Anyway, good luck to all four and congrats for getting this far.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!? man this tree hugger bull sh*t is getting way out of hand. Ok so you all have your opinions and reasoning for things but when people make harshfull coments about shti that they have no idea about it really starts to get to me. do a little reasearch... that stunt in the first shot isn't some "one off stunt"! it has been around for YEARS! featured in drop-in many other shots, ext. ext.

im not trying to start somethign here i just got alittle mad bc we had this really long pointless thred a few weeks about this same crap and wanted to clear it up.

and if you think about it... our sport isn't the best thing four our suroundings in the woods/feild/parks/and everythign we ride. no matter what type of rider you are u have riden somethign that u thought was fun and havent even stoped to think... oh this is really bad taht im riding this and having fun on it:S. like just let up on it.

from the photo it looks like a freshly made one off because of the fresh dirt on the run in and the condition of the tranny. my apologies if it is part of a trail. i'll stand by what i said about rowe's and reid's pics tho as you need to consider the bigger picture with these types of issues - they're fuel for those that would like to see us gone from the forests. in light of the fact that mtb does put some stress - albeit managable - on the environment, don't you think we should do what we can to mitigate that stress?

building trails/stunts should be looked upon as a privelage and an art, not just slap it together as easily or quickly as possible.

Hometown boy is taking it away with Epic shore style. All 4 shots on there own breakdown a story to someone I think that is what alot of people gotta rememeber but most relate to Reids cause he is from the "this guy will build you a birdhouse" shore.

Besides that, Reid hats off to you, you searched high and low for that shot and I am glad you were able to bang of something in the end.

CK, I love his shot its cause like you shore folks its what I relate too. Super natural, epic table big air bomb scare style love it!

SR, deffianlty great shot, super good light set up as well. Reminds me alot of Harookz style picture has that feel. The only thing I wish is we could see something fresh from that zone for this comp. Non the less SR and the talents of the rider still show through that factor is not hindered just the freshness is.

Kaleb what can I say, I am going to be biased on this one cause I know what work went into this as well as how long this kid has been shooting for and watching him grow. Good luuck buddy.

This is just based on these photos or their original 'moneyshot' as well?

The final is based on this shot alone. The photo wins - not the photographer if you know what I mean.

Don't forget though - the judges decide who gets the bike. This vote decides who pockets the G-Note from Denny's and, in second place, who gets $250 and a spot in the calendar.

I was looking for a little more soul rather than the usual hits. Shooting big hips and dig drops is not hard at all. It takes a lot more to make a person on the ground stand out and look good. I'm sorry nothing really caught my eye as out of the ordinary shots anyone with a digi could take. Just my 2 cents kids.

I'm not gonna get into a shit match with a chump...But the 4 pictures are nothing out of the ordinary and are not from any original angle or perspective.

All I gotta say is this photo blows away any of those 4 in a heartbeat. The only bad spot is the riders helmet. Regardless, the angle, surroundings and light are mint. Also a good portion of the rider takes up the picture.
