As the title suggests.... where can I find maps, trail descriptions etc. of riding in Kelowna? I've heard good things about Kelowna riding.

Thanx

the rumors are true, almost every trail is rideable in the area. Gericks is a fantastic shop with lots of different maps of the area. Everything from xcountry trips to full on DH/Freeride.

What kind of riding are you looking for?

I agree with Ripper, head to gerricks on the main drag and talk to the boys there....I shot the shit with romaniuk in there one day, he's a helluva nice guy and was willing to show a few of us around, however the rain kicked our ass:lol:

Freeride/DH types, long long long long flowy trails, stunted trails, etc. I ride in the interior a lot in the summer (lots of free time to play) so I do a lot of trips. I always spend a few weeks in Nelson/Rossland, I've ridden in Fernie, Invermere, Golden, Vernon, Kamloops, Sunshine Coast, and Whistler (OK some aren't interior that I listed but basically I love to check out the riding in other parts of BC). I'm planning to do a trip into Williams Lake area this summer and now I'm also thinking Kelowna too because I've heard from a few people that the riding is suppose to be good.

The trail that "diggler"?? is building in Kelowna looks really nice (in the pics) but mostly I like steeps and old school stunts (log rides, teetors, etc.) and the smaller jumps (30 foot gaps are of no interest). I'd love to do some long long long descents that flow well, are scenic and hopefully have some variety (in terrain at least) - the Collective (movie) comes to mind.

So Gericks is the place to hit up for trail info and maps? Any online sites for trail writeups, pics, etc. to get me all excited about riding there? :)

Diggler is responsible for an area called "Powers Creek". A great ride but not too technical as far as natural terrain. There are plenty on stunts though to cut your teeth on. Personally I prefer the Gillard area, more variety and more challenging terrain. If you are interested in a joining our group for a local tour let me know. We may even take you up to Postil...

GILLARD is where you must go. Follow Pandosy (right before the floating bridge) all the way out till you hit gillard road. ask at shops for the specific trial directions

I was there a couple of weeks ago and got a map of Powers Creek and Gillard from a place called Fresh Air Experience. It was like five bucks and super easy to figure out.

Gillard does have quite the variety of trails. Some are mild to totally wild. Postil is flowy but short and huge gaps that your not fond of. Powers (my baby) has lots of selection with skinnies and teeters on the 2.5km entrance and more flow on the new one (pics in trail building gallery). If you like scenery and a longer ride I suggest you take the trail on the left when you enter the 2.5km trail. It follows the canyon and has a supension bridge and lots of natural rock. Every thing is a little muddy right now but should be dry by the end of the month.
