I would be happy to recommend Earl, Tyler or Nigel if they're interested - Earl might be too young. Mark - you're known to LSCR so good luck!

I can't believe that pays $18 an hour. I also can't believe they need to advertise. Just seems to good to be true.

He's not 18, so the rest is really not relevant, but ya that attitude won't go far.

i think i might just have to throw an application in.

for the creater of this thread, i applied for a job with the GVRD that was called a "park worker". isnt the LSCR part of the GVRD, so is that really the same thing i already applied for?

Yes, the LSCR is a division of the GVRD but we are not a park. The job you applied for would have been with GVRD Parks (Pacific Spirit, Lynn Headwaters, Capilano, etc.). The LSCR is operated by the Watershed Management Division of the GVRD.

Thanks,

One thing Ive noticed from my half assed trail maintence is that guys who have some expericane at it can get about 5 times as much done as a noob.

Hopefully you hire a guy who has some experiance getting dirty.

... and you would have to post stupid questions about the 20 different jobs you were considering before you would even decide on this one.

I wish I could do it, but my boss wouldn't let me take 3 months off.

Sounds like a sweet gig!! Getting paid to go work in the forest. I like it so much, I do it for free. I could get lots done if I could start early in the morning on a daily basis.

the boys that built crippler ended up getting the job, and I think they had a great time. How could you complain about a summer of paid trail work?

You'll find a great picture of one of them here. Although it looks like he's "hard" at work supervising, that picture was posed for laughs. They did a great job organizing the work on the Neds trailday!

thats not the point of his commnet......its not weather or not he would LIKE to get paid...its now they have to HIRE someone to work on the trails, back in the day everyone enjoyed just goin out and doing it for free .

Kye you are a goof. You can go nail some dogs on the pathway;) However, this is starting to bring up a bit of interesting conversation. Truthfully, I do prefer volunteer building than paid building. But keep in mind I enjoy paid building over any other possible job. One of the main things is that you don't have the option to just giver and work for 12 hours to get something done. Or say it starts raining 3 hours in and you can decide to go home. Some trails will just never have someone want to volunteer to adopt, for example Ned's. This is the case where paying someone is probably the only choice.
