Why don't you write about something that doesn't have to do with riding?

Why don't you write a letter for Jonathan to give to the "chick with a boyfriend"

That's a topic that will go nowhere. Pick something that has a lot of information readily available.

Why not do your own homework? Biking related essays, projects, etc. usually don't go very far.

Why not stretch and write about something completely unrelated to biking?
I can remember in English class we each had to write a set of instructions on how to tie a shoelace. The instructions were handed out randomly, and individuals were told to follow the instructions put in front of them EXACTLY how they were laid out.
The results were quite comical. "Raise right hand...using thumb and index finger...etc...etc"

Yeah, I think it depends on what your purpose for the project is, but I think describing a physical activity, especially one which requires so much coordination like riding a bike or tying shoelaces, could be an interesting excersize.
I mean, it's not like you're trying to get published, and it's not like the people on this bulletin board are your audience, so it seems like it might be a good way to flex your literary muscles if you can do a really good job of describing how to ride a bike using only words. But then again it totally depends on the purpose of your assignment.
