Nightriding on Seymour

Last week at around 8pm there was a roadblock at the base of seymour. The guy at the gate said that the road up was now being closed in the evenings because of the street racers etc.

You could go up to collect cars etc. but not sure if he'd let evening riders up the hill.

Does anyone care to comment have any more details here?

Depends on whos working the gate. they guy right now threatened to phone the police on us last year. The regular winter guys are usually OK with it. If they really cared about speeders then why isnt the gate up all year.

Its really only the shoulder season that they set the gates up early. I beilive they dont want people skiing at night. should be gone in a month or two.

They might not let you shuttle but they will let you ride up. I rode through the gate on Thursday gave a wave and headed up the road. I must admit that it is quite nice ride without the smell of burning brakes.

I was told last year, when the gate was up, that it was only because the ski hill was running but closed for the evening. Once the ski hill shuts down for the season, they don't gate the road anymore.

And yeah, the guy let us up there to retrieve the car but wouldn't let us up to ride.
