I'm looking for a fork that is good for street and trail riding, I'm looking at these two forks so can anyone suggest either the pike, the dirt jumper 1 or another fork.

if you are smooth, the Pike would be the best option as it can hold up fine for a smooth street rider, and its obviously one of the best choices for trail riding.

if you arent smooth, the DJ1 would be your only option. The Pike just isnt designed for hard Street abuse.

Its hard to say wheather or not a Pike would be fine for you over the internet though hahah! Its up to you.

PS- In about 5 days ill own both of those forks!! hahah!! YES! Im psyked. I have been riding a pike for about 4 months now though.

The DJ1 can survive a nuclear bomb. Though heavy, not adjustable and feels like ass IMO.

But the Pike excels in everything that the DJ1 can't offer. Light, EXTREMELY adjustable, smooth damping, etc. etc.

I ride a Pike on my Chap for street, DJ, and Shore and I can't say enough good things about it. Except for when the trail gets squirelly and can only be cleared by those with the 8" 888.

I was looking at the same decision, although I doubt I'll ever be able to afford it. Anyway... What about the Marz z1 sport? It has a good price tag, and might not be as heavy as the DJ, and is probably more adjustable. It's 5" I'm pretty sure.

Entry level Pike has travel adjust from 3" to 5.5", lock out, floodgate so your fork doesn't blow up when you accidentally hit a big d0rp to flat with lockout on, rebound control and compression. And it's a MAXLE! 20mil with a QR, can't get any sexier than that.

Pretty sure the Z1 Sport doesn't have all those for the same price tag...

pikes are the best forks you can get for all around use and adjustability. they are also super light and super plush. i had an 02 dj one before i broke it and it sucks comparec to the pike. these forks are uncomparable... buy the pike

A 2002 DJ fork can not be compared to a new Pike.

I am also looking at the Z1, those look very good, exactly what i need, a shore/ djing fork.

No, i am only to be fed humming bird food. And Bawls.

PS- I think the Z1 would be a great option. If you wer to go with the Pike or the DJ, you would be compromising too much.

Pike - expensive and not QUITE as strong i dont think
DJ - heavy and feels like shit on the trail

Z1 would be a great middle ground, and its more affordable than the Pike

^Yah, I looked at the z1 on the website and they look great!!! 5-6inch travel, compression and rebound adjustments and you're right alittle bit of both forks.
