I got this at work. Thought it might interest some of you.

Ever felt that you’d like to try cycling to work but aren’t sure how to get started, or don’t feel completely confident cycling in traffic? Well now you can learn to ride your bike safely and confidently with a free one-day cycling skills course offered by the Vancouver Area Cycling Coalition (VACC). TransLink's OnBoard program is a co-sponsor of this course.

Courses will take place in various Lower Mainland municipalities in the spring and summer of 2006. Pre-registration is required and the class limit is 12 so please register early.

The 7½ hour course combines classroom and on-road training and is intended to build traffic cycling proficiency for those who want to cycle for transportation. The day includes in-class and on-road training, with an easy-paced 10-12 km ride in the afternoon. Instructors are experienced commuter cyclists with Can-Bike 2 certification.

For full course details, dates, locations and registration, please visit www.vacc.bc.ca/bikeskills

Don’t forget, you can also use a combination of transit and cycling with bike and ride, and lock and ride. Visit: www.translink.bc.ca/Transportation_Services/Bikes/default.asp

Ah, I took my canbike level 2 course, it's pretty crazy.

It's not the same course, but they teach you everything you need to know about traffic riding, then you go riding around downtown on the streets! Actually quite helpful, but freaks the crap out of you at the time...
