View Full Version : Is Roach Dead?
I'm guessing that Race Face has phased out the Roach label. Is this the case or otherwise?

For all intents and purposes, yup. Dead. Guess you can kill a roach, contrary to the early tag line.
Not even any mention of the connection on the Race Face site.
well, that really sucks. I liked them. support the smallish local company.

Wasn't Roach effectively dead once RF bought them out and selling identical products?

Apparently Ingrid was behind the design of marzocchi gear last time I checked...

what I was told was that roach would still exist within BC, but that outside of BC everything would be branded with Raceface on it.

Raceface is still very much a smallish (in the big industry pic) local BC business so it's not all that bad. At least some big US company didn't aquire Roach and change the whole line.

Roach had some copyright issues in Europe with the name or so I've been told. My leg armor says RF of front and Roach on the straps - seconds
I really thought RF could've done a lot more with Roach. Roach was the bomb and it had a great cult following, with some tweaks and some new products it could've crushed sombrio mace etc... RF just never really 'got it' and ran with it. Even RF people say this (quietly)

Kinda sad. Well at least all my 'Raceface Stuff' still say Roach on them :)

My wife found a Roach jacket at Value Village for $10. You could tell it was an original because none of the seams were straight. Had that sweet hand made look. Even said hand made in Vancouver. Too bad someone stole it from work 1 year ago :crybaby:

There was some company selling Roach stuff here because I'm sure Ingrid didnt imagine it to go so big and probably didnt imagine there being any sense in doing any Patent-copyright on the name and that costs big money.
Too bad, I still wear my first pair of roaches and its true, the name my die but the product not!
Igrid, send me some info on your custom stuff, this sounds interesting and I hope to need some stuff done soon. info@headoverwheels.de
