Nice ride :uk::thepimp:
So is the new Chap heavier than the 05 model? I had heard it was to be lighter.
Is the geo the same as the Scream? It does look to be a 7" travel Scream.
Where's Pip been anyways? His presence on the boards was always welcome.

The new Chap is indeed lighter than previous years....and is still a great trail bike if out fitted with the right fork and set up in 6" position. I built mine up recently and it has a Pike air and some wtb/funn parts and weighs in at 37 lbs. It is a really fun bike!
It will be available for Demo at the Ontop days....as long as I'm not riding it!

Why does Banshee use a different name for the UK?

I am very interested to see how you got an 11lb frame fully built up to be 37 pounds.

The frame is 9lbs this year with out shock....I have a DHX air which is only 1lb for the rear....Pike Dual air for the front....WTB Laser disc DH wheel set whcih is lightish....WTB 2.3 Wierwolf tires.....Funn double butted bars w/SMX stem....Raceface Evolve DH cranks...and Funn Slojam Viper flat pedals which are lightish as well...and WTB Devo saddle which is ridiculously light....all said and done 37lbs....it could actually get lighter but being 200lbs I would rather not break parts.

If you're looking for an "all mountain" Banshee, you need to be checking out the new Pyre frame. It will be available in April, but you will be able to check out and pedale a prototype on Saturday at the On Top Anniversary Sale.
The Wraith is essentially an 05 Chaparral, with a different tube set, so it is lighter than the old Chap.
Yeah the new Chap is a lighter, smaller travel version of the Scream, there is certainly a cunsumer demand for such a bike, it is more in demand than the Scream actually, so this makes perfect sense. There are 2 bikes to fill the gap left where the Chap used to be, so I think everything is covered off, don't you agree?

Funny... some would say the same about you.

I loved the geo of my 04 chap. I loved my chap to death...but I could not deal with the weight penalty it offered. I actually found the 04 geo perfect and the geo of the scream to not be - for me anyways...
With that said...I looked at the pyre as well as the wraith and decided to try a new route - intense. Thus far I am more than pleased at my choice. While the chap served me well and, because of its beef, I was able to get unhackish and smoother without breaking a frame, helped me grow as a rider....
I am actually not looking for an all-mountain banshee...I have one..it's called the scirocco :) That strapped to my bike while pedaling my current bike uphill, weighs in about what my chap did all by its lonesome :P
Is everything covered? I have no idea...I know the boys@banshee that I have worked closely with know their stuff and I would bet that they have not left a void that needs filling...
glad you love your bike though :)

not sure where you are coming from with that...if you are referring to my 6.6, the frame weighs in under 7 pounds...and the intense will be about 34 pounds once I finish swapping out the parts that I used from the banshee...
if you are referring to my old chap...that weighed in at 50 pounds :)
