I heard that possibly the linkage or something could be flipped to change the bottom bracket height... Anyone know anything about this? If so it is much appreciated.
Thanks

all the faith riders down here turn the top link back to front to lower the bottom bracket and slacken off the angles...
apparently they ride real nice with it done... ameils is set up like this and hes pretty quick...

do you think it is bad for the bike? Does it void the warranty? I'm just curious. thanks.
Won't cause any warranty issues. If your running a 170mm 66 I'd flip the link. I'd never run one in the standard setting unless I was running an 05 200mm 888.

if you are worried about warrenty and the well-being of your bike, why not give giant a ring or ask someone that works at an authorized giant dealer?

You are not flipping them per say, you are switching them.
Even though it looks like there would be no change to geo by switching the upper links from left to right and right to left... there is.
The lower shock mount holes are not centered, but slightly offset. The stock hole position is offset higher which 'pushes' the rear end down creating steeper geo and higher BB. Switch the plates and the offset will become slightly lower which drops the BB and slackens out the HA.

So, I'm not sure if i completely understand how i would be switching the linkages. Could someone clearly explain what way to move them? Do i move the top linkage so the bottom holes are mounted to the top and vis versa or do i flip them so the left side is on the right side and visa versa?
Also do I do it just to the top one or both the bottom and the top one?
Thanks,
Cameron

I'll try again. It has nothing to do with the lower linkage near your BB.
Just switch the upper left side linkage plate with the upper right side linkage plate. When switched, the position of the lower shock mount is what changes.
Look at the inside of your linkage plates. See the holes on the linkage plates that the shock is mounted to via bolt. Those holes are not centered, see?

Ok thankyou, i just wanted to make sure i was doing it right. I did it and the angles feel great. It does feel a bit softer in the rear which is interesting... I may get a different spring or put more air in the rear shock. Thanks for all of your help.
Air in a rear coil shock does not make it STIFFER, it adjusts your pedalling platform!!!!!
