Hey all:

Someone broke into my garage in Edmonton (in old Strathcona) and stole my pide and job VPS. I bought in at Gericks in Nelson and brought it with me to Edmonton to attend the UofA.

Details of the bike are as below. If you see it out and about, please contact me (morrison.kurt@gmail.com) or the Edmonton City Police (780-421-3333)

The bike is very unique (with the upgrades listed below) and is most easily identified by the aftermarket shock link (with three bolt positions instead of two).

The bike started as this and was upgraded and modified

Frame: Year 2000 Norco VPS 4. Red and grey main frame. Red swingarm (back part)
Fork: Marzoucchi Bomber Z1 with QR20 axle
Brakes: Hope hydraulic disc brakes (4 pistons, 8 in rotor in front, 7 inch rotor in back)
Crank Arms: Race Face splined
Pedals: black studded
Rims: Mavic 321 disc rims. Front rim custom painted red
Seatpost: Thompson titanium
Seat: large, grey, NRG “Couch” with rip
Stem: CNC’d aluminum
Shifters: Shimano XT (one shifter broken and missing bottom cap)
Derraulers: Shimano XT and LX
Handlebar: black riser handlebar

Unique markings:
Maple leaf sticker on back of left fork leg
“EnvE of North Shore” sticker on top tube just behind stem.
Orange BlackSpire sticker on frame below rear shock absorber
Big chainrig removed – replaced with metal bash guard
Aftermarket shock link (with three bolt holes)
Black handlebar grips held on with copper wire
“Fukkineh” sticker on main frame (red sticker on grey paint)
Rear Hub (center of wheel) has shiny “wagon wheels” sticker
Dragon sunglasses (black) sticker on top of stem.

Contact: Edmonton Police Service: 780-421-3333

Lesson learned:
Even though the garage is locked, lock your bike to something in the garage and COVER IT UP. A theif is less likely to steal something they don't know exists. Also, take periodic photos of your bike to identify to the police. Note all uniquites (such as stickers).

<Serial No coming soon....

I live in Edmonton, and will keep an eye out for that ride.
I will call EPS if I see it.
Considering the number of places where that bike would be put to use, I would maybe get buddy to hang out there and see if someone shows up with his bike.
