My girlfriend and I had both of our Atomiks (o1 and an o4) stolen from the bike racks at MEC (Broadway) yesterday. 3 greasy skate/bmx rats with bolt cutters - mid day - lots of people around. I was able to see the footage from the security camera.
We had the seats/posts with us - so there is a chance that the greasy rats have reduced their chances of reproduction. One can only hope.
The o1 has steel bar ends. a new Hope front brake and a Nokian Gazza...on the front.
The 04 has a brand new chain stay, a lash of string holding the right grip on, and 2 different screw assemblies holding the front thru axle on. A maxxix mobster on the rear.
The rats were all early 20's and had skateboards on the outside of their packs. One was on a bmx. I will now be watching for this type of thing whenever I see a locked bike. I'm thinking that regular citizens have got to start coming down a lot harder on these greasy punks.
