Check out this site if you are a female into riding DH or XC. Some of us are racing this season and ride regularly and some of us just ride for the thrill of it all or just to keep in shape. Group rides are posted regularly.

The ride tomorrow (Friday) was posted up by Danielle on the muddbunnies website inviting anyone from that site to join her and her group.

The muddbunnies website (from what I've seen since joining) is basically a bunch of women posting up when they'll be going and everyone is welcome to join.

So yes, there are two rides happening on Burnaby Mtn - one tonight at 6:45pm and another one tomorrow night at 5:45pm. Both organised by different people but you're welcome to join either one - or both! :)

Hi Ladies,

This is my first post on NSMB, how cool is it that my name was mentioned before I ever posted?!

The ride on Friday was great, just two of us and a slippery Nicole's but fun anyway - oh, if anyone finds my lung on Joe's please let me know, I think I coughed it up somewhere on the way up.

We are shuttling Seymour tomorrow, meeting at superstore at 6pm. Everyone welcome, there will be a range of skills, some of us riding, some of us hiking our bikes ;)

I sometimes can barrel down Neds and other times I am a fraidy cat (or should I say bunny?) who walks her bike through most of it....! I am a total beginner and feel the fear....

I rode with the Mud Bunnies a couple of weeks ago at SFU and they are super cool and fun to ride with!

You never have to worry about walking stuff or making us wait. I am really fortunate to have a great boyfriend and great friends that don't mind waiting for me. I'm pretty slow but I like to point out to my faster friends that I'm really doing them a favour by being the bear bait!

The group that comes out is usually pretty small and we divide into groups based on the amount of people and skill level.

It's really casual and fun, it's especially good if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend/friend/ex/friend with benefits/monkey that rides better (or worse) than you because there is a big range of skill. My boyfriend has been riding for about 10 years and I've been riding for just over a year.

That sounds awesome! I'm all about just going out and having fun but for some reason I sometimes get hung up on my own skill level and I don't want to hold people back. It sounds like your group is awesome. I will be there next week if you guys are going out!

Lots of fun. Four people rode CBC/Ned's and three of us just did Ned's. I realized that even if I'm walking a lot of CBC the warm-up still improves my ride on Ned's so it is probably worth the grumbling and pedals in the shins. I'll post about rides for next week either later today or tomorrow.

I just know that when my gal and I went down CBC/Ned's similar to what the mudbunnies did on Wednesday that she hiked a lot of it rather than riding (I hiked a lot of it too, there are some scary stunts out there!) She said that it was a lot different/harder than when she first tried DH a few years ago..So now she's thinking that DH is too hard/not her thing. I'm hoping to convince her otherwise.

We were hoping to hit a hill on Sunday afternoon.

I should point out that I am a member of the Mudd Bunnies Group but I organize rides in addition to the group (that everyone is invited too). I know that the group does a lot of riding at SFU and your girlfriend might like that better. Check the Mudd Bunnies site for info on their rides. I haven't actually gotten out to one of their rides but I hear they are a lot of fun!
