Rosscofat
03-04-2006, 07:44 PM
mine will be black.. i will have a 6ti front 205mm rotor and the rollers will be goin grey/black also a SHORT cage XO Derail. nothing else is changing.

Gotta thanks caps in richmond once again for giving great service great laughs and Ian Nelson 1 very good bike mechanic!!

Chunk

I bet if you slid the seat back on its rails a bit, it would give the bike a less "upright" look.

But of course, that is a pinkbike comment. Your seat shoudl be set as you want it, but based on looks alone, scoot it back some.

You and your show-bikes...:crybaby:

It's very nice. I wouldn't have gone with a red headset on an otherwise colour-coordinated bike. Btw, that seat is pretty...uhh...let's just say beefy.

I just got those sycros pedals and I dont like them. The stock pins are way to long theres no sliding your foot into position if it bounces abit. I swapped the pins and it still is like standing on nails.

May have to get some atomlab

personally, there are many parts on it I would never use. However, that is jsut my prefence, and you may love those parts, along with a good chunk of the bike riding population. Only other thing i dont like is the poo-brown color. the sx trail would have matched better, imo. Very nice build. looks like you put alot of thought into it.

SEKTER13
03-04-2006, 09:46 PM
Looks good Ross, I actually think the seat would look fine if it was a lil further back, which you plan on doing anyways. Only thing that really detracts from it IMO is the orange on the rollers and on those tires.

sickkk. since when did diety make grey stuff?

Rosscofat
03-05-2006, 12:18 AM
they made grey for over like 6 months now or longer? last interbike...

yes ok the CAPTAIN OVIOUS HERE.. I KNOW the orange sucks no shit kids way to point out the ovious.. atleast chuck can point out somthing no one has noticed..

Yes I might get the tires colored or buy a pair of 40a super tacky minnons
XO only was bought cuz I have money to wipe my ass with.. and why not get the bling parts that do the same as the cheeper parts.

the brown is very hot the red is never gunna go even if it does ruine the bike. tribute to my red doc. u can all hate it and laugh but none of you own it so all I do is smile and ride on by.. :)

Loopie
03-05-2006, 12:31 AM
Brown and orange are related colors and do in fact go together when used right. Cover the yellow on the tires, get the black rollers...and you'll see that the orange stripe will probably look pretty good :)

The profile and positioning of the seat is hideous...anyone can see that, so no need to make Chunk out to be some kind of rocket scientist ;)
About seats and positioning...I always just thought it was a preference all you kids needed for your tricks and shit.

Rosscofat
03-05-2006, 12:33 AM
its great pinch and more forward the better for me.. from a side angle the seat is ugly but meh. amazing DJ seat and feels great. remeber you gunna b sitting on it more then staring at it from a side :) the yellow on the tires?

Ima downhiller...all the seat does is keep the post outta my ass.

You're asking me "what yellow?"...turn the A.D.D. off for second and look again. There is only one thing that is huge and glaringly yellow that I could possibly be refering to

why is the seat so bad? I like it.. ha

I'd ride that bike if I had to... I guess....

JSinclair
03-05-2006, 01:48 AM
As for teh pedals, Thake the middle 4 pins out of each side. Leave teh outside ones on. It will give the pedals a more curved base and keeps the traction as your shoe bends into the curve. It make teh pedals easier to shift around on a bit as well. Less damage when you shin yourself is an added bonus.

As far as the Orange rollers, that is nothing a permenent marker can't fix. Color those bad boys in dude.

You could do teh same with the orange stripe on teh Maxxis tires as well. Even if the Blacks don't match on the tires, 2 tone black would be way more pimp than orange.

looks super rad build wise

cosmetically i would have gotten the white diety parts, just cause grey isnt white, and its not black, its like that person who just hangs around...and u dont really notice them.

aswell the tires...

but thats me being a nit picker...all the parts id be stoked on as is.

plus it depends on how you look at your bike...function or feng shuai?...dag i spelt that horrible.

ross , ross , ross, ross what happened no thomson seat post, yjay was the first thing i noticed and as for everything else it is very nice but just one question if you were going for light weight which i assume you are (xo carbon guide all around light stuff) why did you use steal cranks , personaly would have gone x type atlas and a thomson stem and a answer pro taper bar in gold then that would basiclly be my dream bike , o ya and maybe some michelin comp 16 x 2.2 either way cool bike

think about this.. what cost the most on the bike.. brakes... CK hubs and frame.. all very strong good parts and not very heavy

so it worked great :)

and it wont b dirty

its a show bike
I put a rain tarp over it on the bus when i go somewhere and when I will take it to whistler it will have a full cover over it.

My point is, with the money you spent, you could easily have made a bike just as strong, but about 5 lbs lighter.
