When willl every hotshot with a new d50 digital camera realise how to take real pictures?

Digital cameras make anyone think there god's gift to photography.

I dont think a flash is needed to take good pictures, but when i have motion blur because i only have iso400 on my camera, and i have to shoot a Shutter or 1/60 f/2.8 because of it, it would be nice to have a slave to bump my shutter up a bit just so i dont get the motion blur.

push process your film, i experimented with things like that and i was able to shoot a 400iso role at 800iso (u gotta shoot the whole role like that and then develop it at 800iso) and get good results with really low light like a rainy and occationally foggy day in the trees on fromme although your pictures may have a bit of grain. When I say good results I was able to shoot 1 role of film and get top marks in my photo class for that prodject. Though that also was included in presentation and not just the actual photos. Now I just need to hook up my scanner so i can put some pictures on here.

One thing I did notice was that the light is coming from the other side of the jump. Therefore you could shoot better low-light shots from that angle.

Exactly its pretty dark in there, the lighting is very wierd, the only way i could get a higher speed wich was like 1/100 was if i was on an angle below the rider shooting at the sky, but that is just ugly and pointless.

That and a flash would let you use a slower aperature which would eliminate that washed out sky as well.

Shoot from the other side. You are shooting into the light. You can tell from the hot left top side and the burnt leaves on the right side of the frame.

Trudge into the Cabbage on the other side of the jumps and shoot the other way, you will get better light and a more balanced frame.

1/60 2.8 is tough. Did you try any motion blur shots?

If not track your frame with the rider and shoot with the pan...it should blur the trees in teh backround and might be cool.

The key to motion blur is a slow shutter speed )1/15 -> 1/60 usually gives good results.

yeah i tried panning a couple times today, and its damn hard, i would imagine it would be much easyer with a tripod, but i didnt have mine with me. and the problem i found with shooting from the middle out jay, was there is so many small branches and things in there, that as soon as my flash goes off there is hot spots everywhere. on all the banches and leifs.
