I just picked this up for my wife. She's pretty stoked on it. It's a 2006 Santa Cruz Nomad (size small - black chrome), Manitou Travis 150mm fork, DHX 5.0 air, Saint cranks, Shimano DX pedals, and the rest of the R/FR kit from Santa Cruz.

Actually, I'm the lucky one. (as sappy as that sounds) My wife is due to have our 3rd kid next month and this bike is kind of encouragement for her to get back into shape and have some fun.
She has put up with a lot of crap from me and my toys. It was kind of cool to buy a nice bike for her for a change. She can't wait to get out riding. She keeps asking me if I'm jealous.

I've got a VP-Free and a 243 play bike. For the trails that we ride though, a Nomad would have probably been a better pic. I don't do much downhill at all and my VP-Free was weighing in at 42 lbs with my DC Shiver. After checking her bike out, I ordered a 66 RC2X and a titanium spring for my 5th element. I just need some lighter tires and I think I can get my VP-Free down to about 37-38 lbs. I just wish I could have got her Nomad in a size medium instead of a small. That way I could use her bike too.

How tall is your wife and what is the stand over height on that thing?

My wife is about 5'5'' and this is a size small Nomad. The standover for all sizes is the same at 28.2''. That's a full 4'' lower than my medium VP-Free. The hump part on the Nomad is only right at the front of the bike, so it doesn't really affect the standover that much. This bike weighs a little over 36 lbs. That's not bad considering some of the beefy parts like a 6'' fork and Saint cranks. I switched out the 2.5'' tires for some 2.3'' ones. I actually think this bike is the perfect setup for her. I guess we'll find out this summer.

It's for your wife, but she doesn't bike so you use it. I can see it coming.
